Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic team player who is driven by results and passionate about product development. He/She will be working on developing a range of electricity metering offers with communication protocols and more. Direct experience in product development is desirable and some background in Agile methodology is a plus.

The position is called Staff, Senior Electronics Hardware Design Engineer, and will be working in SEPower Monitoring business unit, based at Attibele location, Bengaluru, and reporting to the Delivery Manager.

Responsibilities

  • To design and ensure the quality of the electronics hardware, provide leadership and guidance for junior engineers
  • Possess good knowledge and should be able to drive or execute EMI/EMC design and test activities
  • Able to lead design reviews, ensure hardware design with standard compliance, be able to write good design specifications
  • Able to realize complex system requirements into a robust and reliable hardware solution
  • Provide support for the hardware and manage component obsolescence throughout its lifecycle
  • Able to collaborate with peers, hardware, and firmware/software engineers to agree upon system designs, interfaces, communication protocols, etc.
  • Coordinates testing of new parts evaluates test results and approves or rejects usage of parts based on test results
  • Should be able to perform hardware simulations and modeling in pSpice or LTspice
  • Should drive/develop with an agile mindset, be able to bring in flexibility in designs, influence platforming, or advocate modular designs
  • Establishes and maintains liaison between engineering and other departments to formulate, evaluate design criteria and meet production requirements
  • Be able to develop appropriate test hardware and procedures, both informal and formal, to prove the correct operation of hardware
  • Monitoring and reporting of progress of development to immediate supervisor and development team
  • Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies, and ethics codes of conduct
  • Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management requirement

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in ECE/EEE
  • 5-10 years working experience
  • Expertise in embedded hardware design and development
  • Proven track record in the design of analog, digital (/mixed) circuits, SMPS, and communication circuits, and be able to do design calculations
  • Knowledge of wireless communication technologies such as Zigbee, 6LOW PAN, Bluetooth, SPI, I2C, RS-485
  • Knowledge of Safety and compliance certifications like UL, CE, MID, FCC, etc.
  • Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company policies, processes, and practices
  • Ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Should be a team player and able to actively contribute or participate in daily meetings or discussions
  • Should be interested to work with the Power system domain and technologies
  • Should be able to handle work with minimal support
