Job Description

Velodyne Lidar is looking for a Senior Manager to build and lead a talented team of cross platform ASIC and FPGA Verification engineers working on exciting new opportunities in the autonomous mobility and ADAS markets. This is a first strategic hire for this function, as we look to build a horizontal CoE domain in Velodyne, India. You will be part of cross functional team and responsible for ASIC, FPGA and system level verification.

As a Sr. Verification Manager at Velodyne Lidar, you will play a critical role in developing key ASIC technology that drives industry-leading products. By working directly with the most fundamental components of the system, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on all aspects of the sensor design. Team will participate in software/FPGA partitioning and implement/validate FPGA functional blocks.

You will be key member of overall R&D organization, collaborating daily with a highly skilled group of digital design and FPGA engineers creating custom ASICs and systems for self-driving vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:-

  • Leading, managing, and developing a team of verification & validation engineers to create a motivated high-performance team.
  • Work closely with peers in architecture, design, verification, emulation, FPGA and Hardware teams.
  • Should be able to review the requirements, verification plan, test plan, micro-arch, identify scenarios and design intent and develop verification strategies which can ensure defect free ASIC.
  • Maintain generic verification environment and regression setups for custom ASICs. Test vector generation, Constraint random vector generation and regression setup.
  • Leads activities in support of functional verification, simulation, emulation, safety & other methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain UVM environments for ASIC and FPGA interfaces.
  • Streamline the verification tools for the mixed signal environment.
  • Support tape out flow by working with silicon bring up team for verification script conversion.
  • Tester flow support through ATPG test vector generation.
  • Timely deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions for productization.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to deliver product features and requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:-

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of technical experience in verification of RTL-based digital systems.
  • 5+ years in managing verification teams.
  • Experience leading development of architectural approaches from customer and system requirements.
  • Work experience creating a self-checking simulation test bench from scratch for SoCs/ASIC/FPGA.
  • Experience in driving improvements in verification methodologies.
  • Highly proficient in System Verilog for modelling and simulation.
  • Highly proficient in UVM techniques for verification of complete ASICs and SOCs: Experience creating drivers, monitors, predictors, and scoreboards.
  • Good understanding upon designing digital ASIC/FPGA architectural design documents (micro-architecture documents with timing diagrams, detailed design blocks, etc.).
  • Good understanding in deriving digital ASIC/FPGA requirements specification from higher-level (system or board-level) requirements specifications.
  • Experience with major vendor simulation tools (Questa, VCS, or similar).

Preferred Skills and Experience:-

  • Experience in mixed signal modelling and simulation.
  • Experience with FPGA/ASIC co-simulation and interface verification.
  • Experience with analog-digital mixed signal simulation environment.
  • Knowledge of autonomous systems, sensors, LiDAR.
  • Experience in integrating FPGA designs on projects that include hardware and software components.
