Shell Secures 600 MW Solar Project in Germany
As Sr Energy and Utilities Engineer, you will provide technology development, front-end and specialized technical support in area of Energy, CO2, water and other utilities across LoB (Line of Business) globally. You will be part of a will provide pre-FEED project support optimally integrating technology into advanced high value projects to meet Shell powering progress strategy -Net Zero Emission (NZE) and respecting nature (RN) commitments.
Further specific accountabilities are as follows:-
- Provide Energy, CO2, and utilities support to preDG3 project team -including. Materplanning, configuration studies, key decisions
- PCAP (Project Control and Assurance Plan) deliverable technical assurance for utility systems.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary contributions and being responsible for the overall utility design integration.
- Participate in technical reviews, HAZOP, VAR (Value Assurance Review) workshops, and peer assists.
- Lead in assessing decarbonization of project/asset by including BAT’s and emerging abatement solutions, this includes driving Development Releases.
- Develop CO2 abatement options, GHGEMP (Greenhouse Gas Energy Management Plans), meet performance standards, develop staircase of solutions to meet NZE targets.
- Provide technical and commercial advice on all aspects of conceptual design, purchase, and implementation of utility systems.
- Lead technology development & deployment, design practices and standards development, provide critical policy (e.g., environmental) inputs.
- Development of trainings, digital tools, and knowledge/learning sharing.
- central to delivering Shell’s powering progress strategy - delivering NZE target with focus on pre-FEED project support.
- Closely work with FEDM and project team based in various part of the world, mainly in Europe.
- A high degree of collaboration, Integration, stakeholder management and innovative thinking to deliver as part of an integrated team.
- Conduct business trip/short term assignments to work with project teams.
Qualification And Experience:-
- 12+ years experienced Energy, CO2, and utilities engineer with degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
- Strong experience in Hot Utilities (Steam, Power, Fuel) or Carbon Energy management and carryout complex master planning, energy efficiency and configuration studies.
- Experienced in design of steam system, power generation, fuel gas system, fuel firing, heating/cooling systems, overall energy balance, low level heat recovery systems, electrification (e-boilers/heaters), low carbon fuels, developing decarbonization solutions,
- Experienced in providing Technical Assurance for Utility Systems.
- Proven experience in manufacturing & technology, technical support (preferably in Refining, Chemicals and Midstream sites) supporting Utility Systems..
- Demonstrated experience in preFEED project phases supporting Utility Systems (brownfield experience is preferred).
- Innovative mindset and new technology, tools and tactics development & deployment experience.
- Experienced in working with modelling tools e.g., Thermoflow, Unisim.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, influencing without formal authority, ability to integrate technology options in collaboration with multiple teams and drive decision.
- Ability to work in natural team environment and to use domain expertise to drive strategy.
