Job Description

  • The Solar and Storage Solutions OTR Finance Manager will be responsible for orchestrating the process to estimate, analyze and report the financials of the Solar and Storage projects organization, comprising of equipment and service projects.
  • This is a critical global role within the Solar & Storage Solutions finance organization that requires the ability to influence senior leaders, develop tactical plans to support the business financial commitments and work with a global team across different countries and time zones.
  • The role will be the primary financial partner with the Storage and Solar Project Management team and entails establishing robust processes specifically in ITO/OTR handover, driving policy enforcement and harmonization, and building forecasting tools and facilitating the ERP roadmap execution.
  • The role will be instrumental in the pacing and forecasting processes, from pacing to budget to strategic planning and will oversee a team of 6 project control employees assigned to Solar or Storage projects and be responsible for driving cross-product line initiatives, e.g., developing project financial dashboards, improving measurement of cost out actions, implementing efficient project profitability reviews and enforcing effective monthly reporting.
  • The role will also entail more ad-hoc deliverables based on the S&SS CFO annual priorities including the execution of the ERP roadmap implementation, harmonizing the analytical tools across the different projects, supporting the business initiatives to drive cost productivity.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

  • Become the go to person” for the Solar and Storage project financials and advise the operational teams on the financial implications of their decisions.
  • Contribute to achieve the financial targets of the business by identifying margin and cash opportunities and work on risk mitigation plans.
  • Prepare the projects estimates (Sales, CM, Cashflow) for the regular pulsing mechanisms (pacing, monthly financial review, early read, annual budget) and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Influence and work with the project management team to drive better linearity of billings and collections.
  • Develop insights on historical trends on project cashflow curves and collection predictability.
  • Establish and drive the project margin review process of the Solar and Storage projects.
  • Reconcile the monthly financial results of the projects against the ledger.
  • Continue to identify opportunities to simplify the closing process and reduce the number of MJE.
  • Coordinate monthly close and full adherence to operational P&L requirements
  • Ensure the compliance of the projects with accounting standards and policies. Co-own with controllership Revenue recognition matters, CMR and other project accounting items.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to project accounting items.
  • Contribute to develop and formalize robust financial processes that would pass the Sox and audit tests.
  • Support the migration of the legacy projects in Bravo to the Altais standard platform.
  • Own process and tools for Projects Finance, and lead standardization across international footprint of projects
  • Drive process simplification initiatives levering the LEAN methodology.

Required Qualifications:-

This role will require at a minimum an individual that has the following skills:-

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in operational finance roles including significant experience in project controlling in a complex environment and FP&A roles.

  • Ability to work in a strongly multicultural team with numerous stakeholders and across different time zones.
  • Strong team player able to interact effectively with business owners and drive accountability
  • Change agent, able to establish the vision, personal credibility and buy-in of stakeholders.
  • CAS graduate, XLP graduate, FMP graduate, or public accountancy are a plus.
