Solar Cad Drafter

This position is ideal for a recent graduate of an engineering technology diploma. The role of Solar CAD Drafter will involve processing data collected by site inspectors into optimized rooftop panel layouts (training on techniques/methods will be provided). The successful candidate should have high attention to detail, clear communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment. A background in electrical engineering (or similar) is considered an asset, but not required.

This position is a work from home position, the ideal candidate will be expected to provide their own workstation and stable internet connection.

Responsibilities:-

• Prepare and design solar engineering layouts (AutoCAD 2D) for residential solar installations
• Ensure designs are accurate and submitted on time
• Communicate with customers and clients
• Document and oversee steps and progress of projects
• Coordinate with site inspectors, designers, engineers and clients as necessary

Key Requirements:-

• Highly fluent in English
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable with GSuite (or similar) software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Willing to work on Eastern Standard Time (night shift)
• Possess stable home internet and a personal computer/laptop for virtual machine access
• Engineering Technology/Design background
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Able to work independently and as a team
