Job Description

The Senior Director of Transformation role requires working collaboratively with teams and sponsors to design, execute, and lead teams through transformational change efforts of varying size and complexity. This role will utilize project and change management principles, project management processes, and tools to focus on driving financial results for our workstreams, ensuring that deliverables are tangible and constructed in such a way as to support the strategy execution.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Engage with stakeholders companywide to understand and advise on their objectives and problems
  • Own the delivery of benefits from transformational programs or projects, taking ownership from start to finish
  • Build and maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, cross functional leaders and project team members
  • Lead project teams in support of different project workstreams, and manage overall project activities, plans, and schedules associated with deliverables and milestones
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more relevant areas [eg Operating Model Design, Process Design & Optimization, Shared Services & Location Strategy, Go to Market Strategy, Cost Reduction]
  • Develop project execution to deliver tangible deliverables within businesses and support functions.
  • Coach and guide project team members where necessary
  • Work with the relevant business area in helping to identifying other areas of transformation opportunity within the same project or business area
  • Utilize project management disciplines and where necessary provide input to improve the processes and documents within project management systems

Qualifications And Experience:-

The successful candidate will combine the ability to lead multiple teams/workstreams with project management skills and prior experience delivering the benefits of transformational change

The candidate needs a demonstrable and highly commercial mind-set, strong financial acumen in addition to excellent listening and communication skills.  A logical, structured approach to problem solving and common sense are key.

  • Extensive professional experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm and/or with a firm with a well established transformation agenda/large technology company
  • Previous roles include Program Delivery responsibility in a global company with similar size to JLL, including leading multiple teams / workstreams
  • Direct experience of major international business transformation projects
  • Excellent analytical and program management skills are essential
  • Commercially and financially astute, comfortable with company P&L and, ideally, also balance sheet
  • Diverse industry and functional backgrounds gained through consulting or elsewhere
  • Understanding of or exposure to global real estate markets preferred but not essential
  • Ability to effectively design, gain alignment and successfully execute significant transformation change initiatives from project start to finish
  • Significant experience  of successful Lean / Operational Excellence project delivery
  • Operations management experience – at Ops Manager / Head Of level
  • Ability to training / transfer learning and skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Numerate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Needs to be Master Black Belt certified
  • Needs to demonstrate significant credibility in delivering OpEx programmes in similar sized organisations

Technical Skills:-

  • Identify opportunities for standardisation, improvement, automation or relocation of processes
  • Develop sustainable solutions leading to bottom line benefit using the Operational Excellence methodology (Process, Ops Management, Work Organisation)
  • Assess the capability of operational management within countries / business units and deliver training and coaching to deliver improvements
  • To own, contribute and deliver project tasks / activities as required to deliver project outcomes on the ground
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure understanding and support for proposed solutions
  • Quantify costs and benefits of solutions and contribute to the creation of business cases
  • Implement Operational Excellence projects to time, cost, quality and scope
  • Align Operational Excellence activities with overall project / programme outcomes
  • Ensure Operational Excellence deliverables conform to Operational Excellence methodology and standards (E.g. Process Taxonomy, Blueworks Live etc.)
  • Train and coach on the various Operational Excellence tools and techniques
  • Work with senior leaders and managers within the division to introduce and implement OpEx principles
  • Champion OpEx in the business units and work with teams to deliver continuous improvement opportunities
  • Leading teams in delivering Operational Excellence projects (as an individual contributor or as part of a team) that align with the OpEx standards and deliver optimal benefits that are articulated in the business case
  • Proactively identify OpEx opportunities and identify solutions
  • Coaching operational improvement at management and team levels
  • Ensure the OpEx methodology is embedded into the operation and applied accurately and consistently
  • Constructively challenge the organisation to constantly improve operational capability and performance
  • Identify implementation risks and barriers to adoption to develop risk mitigation strategies to optimise the success of OpEx deployments
  • Able to imbed and sustain and continuous improvement culture across the organisation
  • Collaborate with other Divisions, senior leaders and support functions (often across different geographies) to maximise benefit realisation
