Job Description

Key Responsibilities:-

  • System architectural evaluation and suggestions using reliability goal allocation methods, bottom-up predictions and identifying weak links in the designs.
  • Ability to find right opportunities and develop new BKMs on reliability analytics metrics leveraging data analytics techniques such as Python, R, Power BI etc.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Design for Reliability advanced tools and techniques to the global team through program consultation.
  • Performs system reliability modeling for key strategic programs including reliability block diagram, availability simulations, maintenance strategies using reliability software such as Reliasoft or like.
  • Analyze component life data through advanced analytics techniques to identify parameter trends, degradation modeling, predictive insights.
  • Performs reliability analysis by applying proven techniques and analytical tools to identify design deficiencies, design margin and robustness in product design stages, weak links and root cause of reliability issues.
  • Develop new test and analysis techniques leveraging analytical tools as required to assure the early identification of potential weak links with new products.
  • Analyzes customer data, reviews engineering designs to assess the reliability risks through reliability analysis.

Education:-

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electronics and Communication or related field

Experience:- 

  • 4-8 Years in new product reliability engineering and data analytics

Functional Knowledge:-

  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

Business Expertise:-

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Leadership:-

  • No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

Problem Solving:-

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

Impact:-

  • Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies

Interpersonal Skills:-

  • Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with Global reliability engineering and product development teams to ensure timely outcomes.

Competencies:

  • Hands-on proficiency in implementing Design for Reliability advanced tools and techniques such as System reliability modeling, reliability apportion/bottom-up prediction analysis, repairable system growth analysis, FMECA etc. in reliability analysis software such as Reliasoft, Windchill, JMP etc.
  • Hands-on proficiency in developing reliability and data analytics through Python/R scripting.
  • Reliability test plan development and sensor/key parameter data analysis. Additionally, the candidate will need skills such as active Listening & Communication, Team Player, produce results with minimum supervision, Project Management, Accuracy & attention to detail, Problem solving ability, coming up with new analysis methods/BKMs to be successful in this role.
  • ASQ CRE or related certifications in reliability engineering is desirable.
