Senior Purchaser

You will be part of the regional procurement organization and engage with both regional and global colleagues on a daily basis. You will be responsible for both local and global activities in collaboration and agreement with your cross-function team members. Your working day will be characterized by a high activity level and requirement to engage in, handle and prioritize multiple different projects.

Responsibilities:-

• Directly handle new and existing supplier relationships both regional and global scale, and leverage internal stakeholder/category relationships globally to maximize supplier partnerships
• Coordinate strategic purchasing initiatives and develop reporting materials (power point presentations, business cases, etc.)
• Ensure supply base data is available to support business decisions
• Implement and coordinate all aspects of the supplier development, contracting and buy to pay processes, prepare, carry out and implement annual negotiations, including proper risk management
• Be the primary point of escalation and resolution for scope related supplier issues
• Evaluate and update existing commodity strategies, guide the rive supplier account plans

Qualifications:-

• Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in global supply chain management, Electrical Engineering or other related business studies
• 8 to 15 years’ work experience in strategic sourcing, industry experience (renewable energy, manufacturing/factory environment, etc.) is desired
• Experience in gathering market intelligence (understanding/interest in global markets, material trends, politics, etc.), high level business insight (understanding of financial statements, cash flow, EBIT, inventory, etc.)

Competencies:-

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SAP and additional software programs)
• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms in English
• Ability to effectively work with a cross functional culture that may include internal, external, domestic and international stakeholders
• Advanced negotiation experience for supplier negotiations (Direct negotiation experienced is preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, advanced ability to create and deliver presentations and business cases
• Results oriented, problem solver, critical thinking, self-motivated, and have ability to make independent fact-based decisions
