Job Description

Responsible for the accuracy, quality, consistency and overall engineered solution and project deliverables associated with all MSS projects (global and domestic) delivered from the COE within the assigned business segment that aligns with the MSS global execution model. Oversee project teams consisting of project management, engineering and project support resources necessary to meet and/or exceed customer’s specifications, deliver projects on time, meet as-sold financial goals and aligned with Emerson quality standards. Provides support for the project execution teams to help navigate obstacles and remove execution barriers.The COE Segment Leader will be an integral part of the COE Leadership team supporting the delivery of global and domestic projects within a COE culture aligned with the COE Promise Statement.

  • As leader of a segment of projects, the COE Segment Leader will provide direction to project execution team members, set segment performance goals / objectives and develop, track and communicate segment key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide input on sales, profit and risks to Project Delivery Leader for all projects within segment.
  • Centralized, coordinated management to ensure all projects within segment achieve MSS organizational goals, key performance indicators and strategic objectives / benefits.
  • Serves as the primary responsible person for delivering all projects within the segment aligned with MSS processes and standards.
  • Consistency in solutions, activities and deliverables being deployed across projects.
  • Participate in the project review sessions providing oversight and guidance. Capture best practices and communicate the learnings through group and individual information exchanges.
  • Lead a team of Subject Matter Experts, Consultants and/or Project Leads within the segment supporting the projects through technical reviews / resolutions, etc.
  • Support the Solution Architects or Proposal team in accurately architect the technical solutions for opportunities within the segment.
  • Review and support resolution of projects risks, challenges and opportunities
  • Support the alignment of segment project execution plan with project requirements and organizational expectations for consistency and effectiveness
  • Provides feedback to resource managers on performance and competency improvement suggestions for resources working on projects
  • Participating in COE organizational leadership activities and meetings such as board meetings, leadership team meetings, COE goals and strategic plan meetings, etc.
  • Collaborates with global execution/ operation leaders and Global Engineering Lead to bring all engineering deliverables in one consistent format and helping to improve productivity and consistency.

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Control or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in segment specific applications with at least 5 years in managing of concurrent system projects.

Other Requirements:-

  • Good knowledge in application of various types of meters, analyzers and key product types and applications for gas & liquids measurement. Good working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, API MPMS, ISO & other industry standards related to solutions.
  • Solid people management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial and financial issues.
  • Excellent analytical skills and results oriented.
  • Decisive, drive and ability to deliver effective, innovative solutions.
