This exciting role offers opportunity to:

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to lead/support Global fuel emission projects in the areas of Pursuits & NPI as an engineering lead. Applicant needs to closely /directly work with end customers, OEMs, global stakeholders to achieve the growth objectives of the business unit. The role is to lead/support all engineering activities from concept to launch of the product in co-ordination with various internal stakeholders like test lab, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain.
  • Applicant shall have experience and proven track record of innovative mindset to design, develop, validate core valves of fuel tank like FLVV /GVV/ICV for Automotive/commercial vehicle/off highway application. The role also requires the competencies to lead design and development of subsystem for complex (Alien/stranger) advance valve projects.
  • Applicant should be able to define engineering requirements by understanding VOC and application. Applicant should also have sound understanding on tank system architecture, automotive market trends, global environment regulations and its requirements.
  • Applicant should have thorough knowledge on resolving test failure /field failure issues. Must have hands on experience with CAPA tools and process like 8D, A3 etc.
  • Applicant must be proficient with 3D drafting tools like ProE & Catia, GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis and conversant with manufacturing and machining methods involving plastics over-molding.
  • Applicant must be able to do the quick hand calculations for Flow and interpret computations fluid dynamics, FEA results to optimize design
  • Applicant should continuously look for opportunities to improve and create robust design using DFx principles.
  • Applicant should conduct and support design reviews with the leads and subject matter expert for WPA and Gate approvals of the projects.
  • Utilize DFSS/DFR concepts /tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management, DAP & DVPR with 100% compliance for new product development &/or existing product improvements, under guidance from specialist /chief engineer, to drive NPI Efficacy. Advance knowledge of statistics is added advantage
  • Utilize experience of engineering design fundamentals, CAD tools and GD&T to mentor the fresh engineers with complex 3D models and drawings while meeting desired quality and timeline targets. Drive the culture of first time right, analysis first and risk base thought process within the group. Mentor  design engineers while providing technical support on their projects
  • Utilize understanding of plastics manufacturing and machining processes to improve new and existing designs, act as a lead technical resource for internal stakeholders and resolve DFM challenges, execute DSFR discussions with supplier
  • Master in FE product validation procedures by working closely with global test engineers and suggest opportunities to optimize current test procedures, modularize fixture designs to achieve saving in validation time and cost
  • Maintain credible communication practice with internal stakeholders and project team on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures
  • Collaborate with cross functional team for successful execution of projects across all stages of product development process per PRO-Launch
  • Applicant should demonstrate the passion on Contribution towards intellectual property (Patents and disclosures) and lead ideation sessions coordinating with cross functional team.

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • BE/ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical /Automobile Engineering (IIT /NIT or any other reputed college will be added advantage).
  • BE / BTech :7-9 yrs.; ME/ MTech: 5-7 yrs. of experience in engineering/product design.
  • Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, Application Engineering domain
  • Knowledge about Fuel Vapor products performance, fuel tank architecture, Emission regulation -India and global
  • Hands on experience in maturing the product from concept to production by  leading engineering/R&D activities
  • Experience in navigating projects having significant amount of design ambiguity/complexity and meet the design requirements thru innovation
  • Experience in CR/CO processes in Enovia, problem solving tools and their applications
  • Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; Team player with highly effective interpersonal skills; Experience in handling direct / indirect project leadership role.
