Job Description

The Safety Engineer is responsible for managing the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) aspects of solar EPC projects, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards, government regulations, and industry best practices. The role requires collaboration with various teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction teams, to minimize risks and create a safe working environment

Key Responsibilities:-

Safety Planning & Compliance:-

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety plans and protocols for all phases of solar EPC projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and other relevant industry safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections of sites to identify and mitigate hazards.

Training & Communication:-

  • Conduct safety training for project staff, contractors, and other
  • Communicate safety standards and expectations to all teams involved in the project, including subcontractors and vendors.
  • Facilitate regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety

Risk Management:-

  • Identify potential risks related to electrical, mechanical, and environmental hazards on solar project sites.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports outlining root causes and preventive measures.

Documentation & Reporting:-

  • Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare safety reports for management and regulatory
  • Track and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Collaboration & Coordination:-

  • Work closely with the project management team to incorporate safety considerations into project timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review design plans for potential safety issues.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure that safety-compliant equipment and materials are sourced.

Emergency Response:-

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans in case of accidents, fires, or other
  • Ensure that emergency equipment is available and in working condition on
  • Lead emergency drills and coordinate with local emergency services when

Qualifications:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), or OSHA certification are preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in safety management, preferably in solar energy or construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and environmental compliance specific to solar or construction industries.
