Renewables and T&D Engineer

• Engineer will be directly responsible for Power Plant controls engineering and testing phases for renewable energy i.e. Solar, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Microgrid projects
• Engage in understanding the engineering drawings to prepare and study technical data, Specification requirements for renewable energy (Solar, BESS, Hybrid) power plants
• Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration and perform factory functional testing for SCADA, Web platform, High speed Historian, and other related functionalities
• Knowledge and experience with IEC-61131 programming, testing, and commissioning for BESS and Solar power plant commercial operation
• Engage in KOM/Customer Demos/FAT/DRM and commissioning activities, this shall require site visits and deputation
• Understanding of utility use-cases (Electricity / Gas / Water / Renewables) are preferred
• Should have experience with a variety of equipment and devices used in the renewable power plant including inverters, transformers, capacitor banks, Trackers etc.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities:-

• Perform detailed engineering activities to deliver results as per customer requirements
• Design & Implementation of control scheme for Renewable Power Plants like Electrical control, BESS, Grid control, Active & Reactive power control etc.
• Design, planning, integration, testing, training, and commissioning of hardware and software requirements on a customer system based on project specifications
• Process simulation & testing
• Configure third party interfaces like OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus, IEC61850 etc.
• Working knowledge of industrial standards like IEEE, IEC, NEC, and Grid codes
• In this role, the Project Engineer will be taking care of technical aspects of project delivery for SCADA/EMS/GMS/ADMS projects using OSI’s monarch platform for customers across India, SEA, MENA, and other geographies
• Provide training to customers on OSI products such as SCADA, FEP, Web platform, ICCP
• Knowledge of configuration of SCADA software packages, RDBMS database such as MySQL / PostreSQL, ODBC and report generation
• Compliance with internal and external customer safety and security requirements
• Adherence to quality management systems & guidelines
• Working with contractors / sub-contractors
• Fostering smooth collaboration and communication with project stake holders (internal project teams, customer project teams and onsite contractors)

Qualification And Experience:-

• B. Tech / B.E (ECE, EEE, I&C, E&I)
• 4+ years of experience in Renewables (Solar, BESS, Hybrid, Electrical Controls, Energy Management) project engineering and commissioning
• Experience with energy storage, Solar PV systems, microgrids, or other integrated DC/AC electrical systems
• Experience of industrial communication protocols like Modbus, IEC61850, OPC, DNP3 etc.
• Experience with SCADA systems, data base creation, integration of RTUs with IEC104 / IEC101 / DNP3 protocols, establishing ICCP protocol connections between control centers
• Proficiency with ISA and SAMA logic symbols, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical SLD’s
• Experience in designing and implementing control schemes like P & Q control, sequences etc.
• Knowledge of various KPI’s for renewable power plants to gauge its performance
• Proficiency with one or more control system platforms (e.g., Emerson Ovation, ABB Pro Control / Bailey INFI 90, Siemens T3000 / TXP, Siemens S7 etc.) will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP and routing principles will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of computer programming with C# or Python
• Troubleshooting, priority setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
• Excellent language and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Respond to queries, RFI’s in a timely manner
• Ability to interact with and guide vendors & Sub-contractors
• Strong documentation skills
