Job Description

Reporting to the Chief of Unit Programmes & Project Implementation or a designated officer, you will identify strategic program and project implementation opportunities for ISA in this sector (within SIDS). You will lead the identification, building, and establishment of partnerships, the preparation of funding proposals, organize and participate in meetings and workshops, and support the implementation of existing projects associated with the SIDS.

Your Broader Scope of Work (but not limited to)

  • Establish collaborative partnerships with all relevant stakeholder groups as required
  • Identify & propose new opportunities
  • Provide technical assistance to the program partners
  • Take complete responsibility for the implementation and management of the Programme
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of the program

Education:-

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in electrical engineering, environmental engineering/sciences, energy management, power generation, distribution or transmission, solar or renewable energy, civil engineering, or another relevant field.
  • Applicants with bachelor’s degree and four additional years of relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:-

  • Minimum eight (8) years of demonstrable relevant experience in the technical area of renewable energy systems, /emission reduction/ climate action, particularly solar energy, energy access, development infrastructure, power generation, electricity transmission, and /or power distribution (on and off-grid) – preferably within the SIDS region.
  • Relevant experience working with regional/international institutions/Governments/private sector groups/donors in the renewable energy sector will be an advantage.
  • two years of relevant field-level project implementation experience in developing countries within SIDS is preferred.

Languages:-

  • The role demands substantial writing and verbal communication skills. As English is the official and working language of the Organization, excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other languages (i.e., French, Spanish, and Arabic) would be advantageous.
