R&D Design Engineer – Drive Expert

You will be working as R&D Design Engineer – Drive Expert, reporting to R&D Team Manager and will be part of Motion – Service Business area in Bangalore. You will be part of ABB Motion Services, Smart solutions service line. We develop advanced digital services and solutions which are used by our clients around the world. We leverage machine learning, statistics, and domain knowledge to turn data to value adding features.

Responsibilities:-

• Using your knowhow on drives, create concepts how to assess and predict condition and performance of connected variable speed drives
• In close collaboration with data scientists and software developers you will create solutions that will be used by our customers all around the world
• Your expertise is required in different stages of development process to support the team to solve problems and make right decisions
• Ensure good communication and transparency with stakeholders
• Work as a part of global development team following agile development practices

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of experience working with variable speed drives. You may have either developed drives or have experience on using or maintaining them.
• Excellent understanding on variable speed drives and applications
• Working experience with Medium Voltage Drives is preferred
• Knowledge of software development (coding or agile processes) or machine learning is considered as an advantage
• Fluency in English is essential (written and spoken)
