Purchase Engineer - Imports

To ensure that the materials are ordered at the right time on the right vendor and delivered at the right time with the right quality and price from imports vendors.

• Responsible for converting the Purchase requisitions to purchase orders for imports category
• In charge for identifying, registering and placing PO’s to right vendors in overseas.
• Accountable for entering all the intercompany orders for parts and assemblies as well.

Responsibilities:-

• Conversion of PR’s to PO’s for all the import items.
• Ensure the agreed price & lead time given to suppliers in the PO copy
• Entering the orders for inter-co via FF2 and OPS.
• Monitor and expedite the OD (overdue orders) from Imports vendor & ensure the OTD.
• Maintain the open order status from Imports category and follow up the delivery as per MPS requirements.
• Monitor incoming material movement to control inventory from imports group
• Identify right supplier in MIN and registering in Oracle to place the orders to them
• Price negotiation with imports suppliers.
• Ensuring & Ordering AA & A parts in staggered manner to improve delivery frequency.
• Educating & receive feedback from suppliers to meet Fisher procurement standards.
• Coordinate with internal department (planning/QA/Application/Sales and stores) to resolve the commercial & quality issues if any.
• Negotiate prices, deliveries and payment terms with imports vendors.
• Coordinate with stores/Finance team to resolve the commercial/payment issue from imports vendor and ensure that they are paid as per Po terms.
• Rate the vendors periodically & receive feedback for improvement.
• Improve the supplier payment terms wherever possible.

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor of Engineering – Likely in Mechanical/Instrumentation stream
• Basic knowledge in Application and sizing of Fisher valves
• Order entry experience to all the Fisher intercompany via FF2 and OPS
• Basic application and sizing knowledge on all Fisher products
• Order entry knowledge in OPS/FF2
• Knowledge on customs and Import logistics.
• Basic materials knowledge and mathematical skills
• Price negotiation skills
• Follow-up the delivery from supplier as per our requested delivery schedule
• Fundamental Engineering knowledge is needed for understanding the workflow at Supplier's end
• Better understanding of the process and able to offer solutions.
• Technical competence is needed to understand the processes
