Job Description

Project management and implementation:-

  • Responsible for managing the planning and implementation of the “Mobilizing cities to be climate resilient” project, including effective delivery and execution of the project as per timelines, reporting and project documentation, identification and leveraging opportunities.
  • Support the development of a corporate climate strategy to mobilize business and industry in Bangalore to promote citizens of urban cities to be climate resilient.
  • Support implementation of science based targets, engage in corporate employee engagement platform for emission / carbon reduction, target setting & climate and use of renewable energy, reducing water footprint by the corporate sector
  • Support Environment Education Team in implementing Employee Engagement programs pertaining to the project
  • Identification and engagement of vendors, agencies and partners towards execution of the project
  • Responsible in tracking and maintaining budget expenses. It’s a key component of project management. Submit reports in the pre- defined format in a timely manner.
  • Convene and participate in periodic discussions and meetings to track progress and share updates and inputs.
  • Flag concerns in a timely manner and propose solutions.
  • Reporting will be to the Project Lead at the Secretariat.

Stakeholder management:-

  • Corporate outreach and maintaining relationships with existing program stakeholders and leading outreach to drive the adoption of more sustainable practices in the industry by convening key stakeholders.
  • Represent WWF at relevant corporate climate industry for workshops
  • Work closely with WWF’s network team and donors related to the project
  • Support in other Climate Change and Environment Education deliverables

Events and communication:-

  • Supporting the planning, organization and coordination of meetings, events and workshops as required. The Climate Officer will participate indialogues and events on corporate engagements.

Monitoring & evaluation:-

  • Leading the monitoring and evaluation of project activities for impact assessment, submitting progress reports to the donor as per their timeline.
  • Developing tools and indicators to evaluate and assess the impact of the project activities
  • Keep abreast of relevant industry sectors and national and international climate related developments

Risk Evaluation & Mitigation:-

  • Participate in risk evaluation and mitigation strategies.
  • Read and understand WWF India’s policies and procedures on Risk .
  • Be compliant at all times and adhere to Values and Core Standards of the organization
Desired qualifications, experience and skills:-
  • Masters in Environment / Natural Resource Management, MBA, Public policy, communication etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in relevant field with a strong working background in climate change, energy, knowledge/ experience on wetlands, water management, awareness programmes / initiatives is desirable
  • Experience in all aspects of project design and management (e.g. planning, funding proposal development, monitoring and reporting)
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, partnership development and reporting.
