The candidate shall be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing engineering documentation for SCADA, PLC, PPC, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in solar power projects. Ensures compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Develops system architecture diagrams, control philosophy documents, communication interfaces, and wiring schematics. Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including design, commissioning, and project management, to ensure accurate documentation. Supports technical evaluations, revisions, and approvals to streamline project execution and system integration including leading the commissioning of SCADA and Power Plant Controller (PPC) systems for solar power projects. Involves configuring, testing, and integrating SCADA/PLC systems with solar inverters, BESS, and grid systems. Ensures seamless communication through industry-standard protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, OPCUA/DA, IEC104 etc.). Coordinates with site teams, solution integrators, and clients for smooth execution. Troubleshoots and optimizes system performance to meet project requirements and grid compliance.
Key Responsibilities:-
Engineering Oversight:-
- Oversee detailed engineering activities, including system design, equipment selection, and integration. Knowledge of Designing the Engineering documents like GAD, RFQ, FDS, FAT, SAT, Signal List etc.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering approvals for designs, drawings, and specifications.
Commissioning Activities:-
- Plan and execute commissioning activities for PV and BESS systems, including SCADA integration and performance validation.
- Develop commissioning protocols, procedures, and checklists.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning phases.
- Strong knowledge of IEC Standard communication protocols (e.g., Modbus Serial and TCP/IP, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC-104, 101, 103, OPC UA & DA Etc).
- Experience in Power Plant Controller and Battery Energy Storage System Implementation at Solar Project.
Project Management:-
- Lead end-to-end project execution for photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) SCADA projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Support to develop and maintain project schedules, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
Team Leadership:-
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct regular team meetings and progress reviews to ensure alignment and efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:-
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, test results, and commissioning records.
Qualifications and Skills:-
- DIPLOMA or bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project engineering and commissioning within the renewable energy sector.
- Proven track record in managing PV and BESS projects with SCADA, PLC integration.
- Familiarity with energy storage systems, including battery chemistry, degradation, and charge-discharge cycles.
- Strong understanding of power electronics, grid codes, and protection relay settings.
- In-depth knowledge of PV systems, battery storage technologies, and SCADA systems.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD etc.)
- Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., Modbus Serial and TCP/IP, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC-104, 101,103,OPC UA & DA Etc).
- Strong understanding of project management principles
