Principal/Senior Engineer-Sustainability/Building Physics

As our new Principal/Senior Engineer-Sustainability/Building Physics, you will be part of our global High-Rise department, Ramboll’s dedicated team of high-rise experts which have designed over 150 tall building projects globally, including some of the most technically challenging designs.

Responsibilities:-

• Serve as the subject matter expert in embedding decarbonisation and welling being strategies through the life cycle of design from early concept stage to construction.
• Prepare passive design strategy reports based on simulation results to inform key stakeholders of different design constraints and opportunities.
• Develop and conduct energy modelling exercises, both at early and detailed design stages to assess the project’s annual energy consumption inline with ASHRAE 90.1 guidelines.
• Conduct CFD and UTCI simulations to assess outdoor thermal comfort levels achieved by the design and proposing cost effective strategies to improve outdoor thermal comfort.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations for technical briefings to clients
• Lead LEED certification processes, including project documentation, coordination with stakeholders and liaising with US Green Building Council (USGBC)
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to integrated sustainable design principles into the project’s conceptual, schematic, and detailed design phases.
• Compile and issue of building physics reports for CFD modelling, energy modelling, PUE calculations and feasibility studies for MEP, specifically HVAC and sustainability.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory requirements related to sustainability and green building practices

Qualification And Experience:-

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, environmental science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability consulting with a focus on LEED certification, IES software and/or Rhino.
• Strong knowledge and expertise in LEED rating systems, including LEED v4 and LEED v4.1, and experience leading LEED certification processes.
• Proficiency in using IES software for energy modelling, daylight analysis, and thermal simulations.
• Strong understanding of sustainable design principles, net-zero pathways, green building practices, and building performance analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate sustainable design solutions.
• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification is required. Additional certifications such as WELL AP or Green Star Professional are a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to clients and project teams
