The Power System Senior Consultant focusses on the design, development, and implementation of electrical power systems for a variety of applications. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power system design methodologies, and proficiency in relevant software tools.
Key Accountabilities:-
- Lead on excellence in power systems software packages (e.g. DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, etc.)
- Developing models of renewable energy/ Utility transmission & distribution network in above software.
- Understanding and interpretation of local and international codal requirements
- Performing electrical power system studies such as Load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, Reactive power compensation analysis, Harmonic analysis, Dynamic analysis etc.
- Performing Grid code compliance studies (Steady state, Power quality & Dynamic studies) for integration of renewable energy to the Grid.
- Transient and insultation coordination simulation studies (switching/lightning);
- Protection and relay coordination
- To build and maintain key client relationships to effectively position power systems services and secure future business;
- To identify areas where services/skill sets can be integrated through multi-disciplinary working, thereby developing and growing new services;
- To lead the development and delivery of project proposals;
- Lead on efficiency improvements in delivery, for example driving the development of new scripts on power systems software packages;
Education:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Qualifications and Experience:-
- BE/B Tech [minimum] in Electrical Engineering + ME/ M.Tech [preferred] in Power System Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with 5 plus years of experience in power systems consulting. Experience in renewable energy industry will be plus
- A network of industry contacts and clients.
- Proactive and highly motivated to meet customer requirements;
- Proven track record in project delivery;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often working on multiple projects or proposals at any one time;
- Ability to deliver client work efficiently to externally driven deadlines;
- Focus on quality, ensuring excellence of deliverables for both project reports and proposals;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
