Piping Designer

As the successful candidate, you will:-

• Prepare Piping Layout  and  create 3D model  as per the Company quality standards
• Provide  input to  other disciplines.
• Perform Piping design using project specifications/procedures and applying industry best practices.
• Use Vendor drawings and information sheets to develop the model
• Develop piping Material Take Offs (MTOs)
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines
• Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.
• Locate standard pipe supports in the model and design special pipe supports with Stress Engineer’s input
• Participation in formal design review processes
• Prepare stress sketches .
• Isometrics extraction / checking  and produce piping General Arrangement (GA) and equipment location drawings.
• Review of P&IDs and other inputs.

You bring to the role:-

• Technology Diploma or equivalent (Mechanical preferred)
• Experience on Mining and Minerals processing projects preferred.
• Minimum of 5-10 years piping design experience or equivalent relevant experience
• Design and modelling skills in a 3D environment
• Hands on experience on Smart Plant 3D / PDS or PDMS
• Working knowledge of piping components and materials
• Ability to take instruction and work unsupervised
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and codes as required for piping design
• Experience with isometric production control and monitoring
• Good understanding of other discipline requirements
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience of working on  large-projects in EPC or EPCM mode
