Job Description

We are looking for an Operative Purchaser to join our virtual and international team of purchasers at WSSC Purchasing. In this position you will be focusing on operative purchasing tasks for multiple companies and countries in Asia.

Responsibilities:-

  • Manages purchase requisitions and creates purchase orders according to defined strategies and frameworks.
  • Acts as the single point of contact for the indirect purchasing and WeBuy support (i.e. requisitions) within WSSC responsibility area.
  • Purchasing tasks internationally.
  • Acts as point of contact for suppliers on local level to resolve operational issues and to distribute / escalate other issues.
  • Proactive approach to promoting governance of global procurement processes and ensuring Wartsila companies comply.

Requirements:-

  • Commercial/Financial/Technical (e.g. Bachelor of Business Administration, or a degree in Industrial Engineering).
  • Good English, Asian language skills seen as advantage.
  • Operative purchasing experience.
  • Basic accounting.
  • Systematic and organized way of working.
  • Interest in process optimization & development.
  • Open-minded and agile personality.
  • Flexibility and good team working skills.
  • Positive attitude and pro-active thinking.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Capability to work in a global and virtually lead team.
  • Experience of similar tasks and shared services operations is an advantage.
