Job Description

Supply Chain Manager is responsible for Sourcing & procurement of equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. This position will manage reliable and cost-effective supply chain strategies to deliver the materials, equipment, supplies and service to the manufacturing and business operations. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and Finance.

ACTIVITIES:-

  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks related to procurement.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality and development team to improve supplier performance
  • Inventory optimization
  • Effective implementation of ECN with suppliers.
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
  • Implement change and develop new processes to better procure goods and services.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price and service.
  • Drives strategic cost management (lean/ continuous improvement programs / should-cost models)
  • Negotiate and achieve YOY cost reductions through development & utilization of analytical tools to deliver Best-In-Class pricing (Cost Models, Benchmarking, Market Intelligence).
  • Develop supplier database and establish annual purchasing contracts for lower value, high value items
  • Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.
  • Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities
  • Provide periodic reporting for management on purchasing, controls and processes
  • Develop workflow process in line with ERP software system.
  • Advise senior management improved procurement process, management of company assets and replacement strategies. Ensure principles of value for money, transparency, fairness, efficiency and accountability.
  • Supports Tier 2 sourcing
  • Ensures world-class supply base (supplier selection and allocation, standardization, negotiation and contracting, supplier performance rating and measurement)
  • Proactively ensures long term capacity and the availability of scarce components
  • Close and regular interfacing between suppliers and internal customers to ensure uninterrupted, smooth service levels within prescribed timelines.
  • Do cost benchmarking exercise for the critical parts sourced with support of global team.
  • Support creation of annual/multi-year pricing agreements, and negotiate deliverables with the supply base (i.e., price, timing) with Sourcing support
  • Perform Supplier Audits and periodically to ascertain the Supplier performance
  • Co-ordination with Logistics team for Special Cargo / Oversize cargo / Ocean Shipments
  • Support New product development involving suppliers at early stage of design/development action

TECHNICAL SKILLS:-

MUST HAVE:-

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP – HANA).

BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
MUST HAVE:-

  • Multitasking capability and self-adjustment ability to after non-successful tests
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

NICE TO HAVE:-

  • Highly motivated and self-driven, teamwork predisposition, both with R&D teams and with other company functions
