Job Description

  • Academically good, sound in Construction Knowledge and with a go getter attitude.
  • Report to the Project Manager for all construction activities and is based at site.
  • Must have good interpersonal and leadership skills to lead a team to achieve set project targets and to ensure the effective performance of the team.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction of instrumentation works in Oil and Gas Industries, out of which minimum 10-12 years should be in installations of major project equipment and systems.
  • This should include Calibration, Erection, cable laying, instrumentation piping and tubing works.
  • Loop checking, hydro/pneumatic testing and commissioning of complete Field Instrumentation and Control System.
  • Planning-Material & Installation, Cost control, Reconciliation activities of Instrumentation works.
  • Instrumentation and Control system works including PLC/DCS and SCADA system for large refinery, petrochemicals and pipeline projects.
  • Independently Handling Instrumentation Project in Refinery process plant experience, with track record for HSE leadership.
  • Prior experience in role of Lead Engineer for more than 10 Years, with on Time Delivery inside an operating plant or other ‘brownfield’ environment with a focus on minimizing disruption of ongoing operations.
  • To complete the CCR and plant works for large refineries and petrochemical projects, with delivery of the Project within the Budgeted Cost and Time. Candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience in project/activity scheduling and interpreting cost reports for cost control tracking and intervention.
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of National and other relevant international codes and standards.
  • Equipment erection, plant cable laying, testing and commissioning of all Instrumentation equipment.
  • Co-ordination among the various disciplines at site, engineering team, vendors, Sub-contractors, PMC for timely release of work fronts and execution of Instrumentation works in line with scheduled targets.
  • Planning of material, resources, execution, cost control and reconciliation activities of Instrumentation works with Subcontractor, central planning and PMC.

  • Ensure to achieve the project objectives in line with HSES, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Oversee the completion and Turnover of the Permanent Installation and obtain Client Acceptance of the completed works.
  • Be proactive to avoid problems that may impact schedule or budget.
  • Front analysis and daily, weekly and monthly plan and targets.
  • Provide oversight of procurement, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Prior experience of dealing directly with PMC and having skills to represent Contractor in various forums through effective presentations on required subjects.
  • Regular review of construction cost estimates of balance works with respect to scope accuracy and strict monitoring of actual costs against the budgeted cost.
  • Extensive experience in scheduling of projects to meet project milestones and maintain construction resources to acceptable levels.
  • Monitor progress of field activities to ensure scheduling milestones and understanding critical path for delivery on committed dates.
  • Review sub-contractors’ work performance and drive focus on Quality of Work and a Strong Safety Culture.
  • Ensure all Project Safety management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
  • Strict monitoring of field design modifications and scope changes. Ensure forwarding appropriate documentation to the central planning team.
  • Active coordination with Site, proactively anticipate and resolve problems encountered in the field to prevent costly rework or retesting.
  • Prepare Project Close Out Report.
