Job Description

This position assumes a leadership role that ensures global alignment to the standard operating protocols at India (T7) operation site. This position owns the overall robustness of manufacturing systems, Industrial engineering, strategic capacity planning, data analytics, contract workforce management, and operation training strategy to increase safety, quality, throughput and reduced cost at the site.

Basic Job Functions:-

  • Leads the manufacturing control team that consists of manufacturing system engineers, industrial engineers, data analyst, and operation trainers to support smooth line execution and drive operation excellence.
  • Ensures global alignment to the standard operating protocols at the site.
  • Champions new initiatives to increase safety, quality, throughput and reduced cost at the site.
  • Collaborate with global manufacturing control partners to drive continuous improvement and Copy Exact where applicable in the areas of manufacturing systems and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:-

  • Designs, delivers and maintains manufacturing system and process to meet ISO 9K/ ISO14K/ OHSAS 18K requirement for the site by establishing operating policies and procedures, coordination of multiple functions within a manufacturing facility.
  • Leads or participates on calls and meetings with site manufacturing teams within Solar network.  Share best practices. Communicate on rollout of process or equipment changes. Set action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Works with Environmental Health & Safety partners to deliver global safety solutions and implement improvements to the production process to prevent work related injuries.
  • Equips with relevant operation knowledge and able to coach Industrial Engineer on plant capacity modeling and data mining in supporting ramp decisions. Drives throughput maximization with Manufacturing Engineering and site manufacturing teams to prioritize and drive projects based on key metric impact. Lead projects to maximize throughput, machine utilization and machine availability.
  • Performs cost analysis for decision making. Justifications for capital equipment. Analyze and advise cost benefit opportunities. Support yearly AOP budget planning and manage its spending.
  • Collaborates training work with operations and HR team to set up manufacturing technician competency training program that support multi skillset development, certification process, and job enhancement roadmap.
  • Works with operation stakeholders and vendor team to develop a cost effective management of contract workforce. Makes sure the contract workforce fully complies with Solar Safety and Quality expectations.
  • New Process Integration. Acts as Operations point of contact for new process indoctrination to global manufacturing sites. Works with the global site training groups to help train associates on crew relative to new processes/procedures. Creates business requirements documents for new projects and upgrades. Works with the Development Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Teams on new technology to create work instructions and process flows for the production team. Aligns with global manufacturing sites for new process initiative.

Education:-

  • Bachelor Degree in a science, business, or engineering discipline
  • MBA preferred

Experience:-    

  • 6 years minimum in high volume manufacturing leadership/management, operation capacity planning, program/project management or engineering experience required.
  • Added advantage if having basic knowledge and experience in data analytics and shop floor systems.
  • Proven experience using engineering tools for continuous improvement.

  • Proven presentation skills including high level aptitude of Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel

  • Thorough understanding of Solar module manufacturing shop floor processes and systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality systems and requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Health & Safety systems and requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of operation capacity modeling and data analytics
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs
