Job Description

Responsibilities:-

  • Operational management of a Solution Verification and Validation Center (SVC) in Bangalore, India as part of the global Hitachi Energy SVC organization
  • Planning and tracking of verification and validation activities with full resource allocation and budget responsibility for the location
  • Report and regularly communicate the progress to the global SVC lead and product management
  • Maintain and communicate appropriately organization information to the team members (e.g. department meetings, one-on-one meetings)
  • Coach, mentor and develop technically and professionally the testing team to reach the milestones defined by global SVC organization
  • Preparation and execution of steering committee meetings and reporting towards global SVC Lead
  • In addition to your team lead function, you support technically the SVC operation with your expertise in Substation Automation and IEC 61850
  • Technically responsible to ensure the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the several subsystems in modular, easy-to-maintain and extendible software that meets the product specification.
  • Define test concepts and test specifications for system level in close collaboration with the global SVC team and product management
  • Ensure the test strategy and process framework are always up to date and aligned with global V&V principles
  • Create high-quality guidelines and concept descriptions that support our worldwide system integration units in efficiently execution their customer projects
  • Improve existing test techniques to constantly improve testing processes as well as Hitachi Energy’s substation automation systems and components
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of the test environment (e.g., laboratory equipment, licenses, tools)

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelor / Master in Electrical Engineering or Power System Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering, testing or commissioning of substation automation systems with IEC 61850
  • Solid knowledge about testing approaches and processes with focus on System Integration ( Preferable ISTQB Foundation Level certification)Experience as line or project manager preferably within the substation automation domain is a plus, the position is also suitable for a candidate who wants to develop into such a direction

  • Your entrepreneurial mindset and creativity enable you to develop new SVC services and offerings that bring our system business to the next level
  • Very good writing and communication skills to ensure that SVC is represented in a highly professional way
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Availability to travel when required (up to 20%)
