Your essential responsibilities include:

  • Serves as a technical lead and/or project lead for capability development for thermal management using physics based and ML based methods
  • Development of ML based models for design optimization – Reduced order models
  • Understanding system level thermal management requirements and selecting components to meet specific heat transfer requirements
  • Developing ML based requirements validation models based on historical data of different components (Natural or forced convection heat sinks, Liquid cooling cold plates, Heat exchangers etc.) to meet critical-to-quality parameters
  • Historical design data digitization methods development, feature classification and data preparation for ML model development
  • Developing ML based models using digitized historical design data and synthetic design data (generated using flow & thermal simulation methods)
  • Using ML based methods for concept selection from historical design based on new requirements
  • Developing parametric design optimization models (reduced order models) using digital design data of thermal management components and deployment
  • Brief usage of simulation tools such as flow & thermal (CFD), structural analysis and dynamics for synthetic data generation as per the ML model development need
  • Cloud deployment on Eaton’s native selected platform for tool democratization for entreprise wide usage
  • Knowledge of physics based shape / topology optimization methods using commercial tools
  • Exposure of AI driven generative design methods for organic shapes and its commercial tools for multi-disciplinary requirements
  • Establish connect with Local and Global Eaton IT for standard best practices / processes
  • Establish connect with external standard commercial software providers to seek support and solutions pertaining to digital product development, physics driven optimization (topology / generative design)
  • Contributes to the value proposition development for technical projects and programs
  • Participates in internal open innovation events with businesses & other research groups
  • Develops as a subject matter expert through relevant trainings and participation in relevant industry events – network and stay comtemporary on topics in their field
  • Gets trained on internal systems & processes and implements them towards projects
  • Explore advances in digital design technologies and evaluate their suitability for Eaton products.
  • Works collaboratively with digital design team globally to advance the technology

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • Master’s Degree (ME) in Mechanical preferred with specialization in Thermal & Flow engineering
  • 7+ years industrial experience working with thermal management solutions development (system or component level) utlilizing physics based optimization (generative / topology) as well as ML based optimization methods
  • Experience in developing and deploying ML based methods for product requirements validation, design selection and optimization
  • Demonstrated projects developing different thermal management components and deployment for a end system
  • Hands-on experience of CFD methods is must preferably with ANSYS Fluent
  • Experience digitizing design information from historical data using commercial solutions or local custom developments
  • Demonstrated experience in ML model development, model selection, model training / validation
  • Preferred to have brief experience working with general purpose simulation tools such as ANSYS & Abaqus for structural and dynamics
  • Proficiency in programming languages – Python, R, VBA
  • Experience working with generative / topology optimization solutions for multi-disciplinary requirements
  • Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Self-motivated; Passionate to bring own ideas to applications.
  • Networking ability across organization to understand critical business problems that require materials and manufacturing based solutions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Good interpersonal skills – flexibility to adapt to persons with different geographical, ethnic, educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills while handling multiple projects
