This exciting role offers opportunity to:-

  • Provide drive system expertise for ICE & Electric Vehicle Powertrain with specific focus on regional pursuits & system level optimization of various architectures. Determine, devise and execute methods for system level analysis & optimization for value proposition on differentials, gear drives for e-Axles, e-traction drives, gear reduction units for transaxles and hybrid drives. Knowledgeable on latest trends in powertrain and drivetrain elements, architectures, topologies, composites materials and specific constraints of end applications. Possess in-depth understanding of powertrain diversity that industry is adapting in view of 2027 emissions and Fuel Economy norms in different regions. Connect with industry influencers and customer to draw up inferences and experimental approaches to find niche value proposition for EATON solutions in gears and torque transfer systems architectures. Work as engineering lead for identified regional (APAC) pursuits programs for Locking differentials for IC engine as well as xEV applications.
  • Understand market & customer needs in Powertrain space for existing & potential new spaces / places for Eaton Vehicle Group
  • Compare various architectures of powertrain from open sources and characterize the architectural value in respect to vehicle category & application
  • Define targeted analysis outcomes for vehicle level simulations with respect to traction, efficiency, power consumption and range
  • Determine efficient gear topology for each of the popular vehicle architecture and use in-house simulations and industry reports to support the claim
  • Propose MVP for validating the claims to support the value propositions for acquiring new business opportunities with Tier1 / OEM customers
  • Review various locking differential optimization concepts and develop a concept selection framework based on value map according to different architectures
  • Execute tech / capability roadmaps for locking differentials & Powertrain domain for gears in close cooperation with experts and business unit feedbacks
  • Network with industry through various forums and technical conferences to promote EATON solutions for the ePowertrain domain
  • Execute assigned pursuits projects for regional (APAC) application for locking differentials & ePowertrain domain

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • Graduate degree in Mechanical  / Automotive
  • 10+ years of experience in new technology / new product introduction
  • Design of casting, forging, and power transfer systems components such as shafts, gear & bearings
  • Gear Design, micro geometry definition, optimization, AGMA, ISO and DIN standards
  • Gear pair design and architectures selection for locking differentials & transmission types
  • Vehicle dynamics, tractive effort, vehicle performance know-how for ICE & xEV efficiencies
  • Reduction gearing methods, advances and trade-offs in ICE & xEVs for traction and accessories
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Business acumen, Drive for results
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory environment
