Job Description

The Vestas Power Solution business unit brings the technology development of our wind turbine products. We are responsible for its development, verification, and industrialization. It is here that we lay the technological foundation for staying ahead as the global leader within sustainable energy. The Powertrain Module area in Aerodynamic & Mechanical consists of 120+ highly skilled employees situated in locations around the world. The department is accountable for the Powertrain System converting the mechanical energy from the wind into electrical energy. The Powertrain System consists of main components such as the main gearbox, generator, main shaft bearings, lubrication system, and auxiliary components such as brake, coupling, and suspension/damper system.
In the Powertrain Quality Sub Module, we support Warranty cases of Bearing, gearbox, torque arm, coupling, shrink disc, Generator components. This team also has the responsibility of reducing lost production factor ( LPF) related to Alarm, Warranty, Design failures of PTR Components, ensure Closed Loop Quality on new products

Responsibilities:-

  • Work on Closed-Loop Quality & support the process of Root Cause Analysis for failures
  • Improve the preventive actions to avoid known failure modes in the new design
  • Aspire Quality Culture in the Module by training Engineers in Six Sigma & Mentoring Quality improvement Projects
  • Improve Reduction of Cost of Poor Quality
  • Support in maintaining the knowledge base and facilitate sharing of learnings and best practices
  • Actively seek out safety Data from the Value chain and motivate solution & implementation
  • Support in developing sustainability in Powertrain

Qualifications:-

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / similar fields
  • 8 – 10 Years of experience in Continuous Improvement activities in Quality function
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, APQP4Wind
  • Product Development Experience is good to have
  • Good in Communication

  • Ensure the risk are properly updated in the DFMEA document from the Nonconformity report, QBD, factory & field failures
  • Follow up on Critical to Quality tasks, maintain the risk register. Lead & Lag Indicator
  • Creating sub-module / component-specific cost of failure to cost of new design ratio
  • Introduce the APQP4 wind process in all Powertrain projects especially focusing on involving the value chain & improve the close loop quality
