Junior Engineer Structural Design – Offshore Wind Engineering

Responsibilities:-

• Perform detailed structural calculations using FE tools like RFEM and our in-house software ROSAP
• To work with a team of secondary steel engineers and CAD technicians on project teams referring to the Discipline Leads, Project or Design Manager
• Design of secondary steel structures such as internal/external platforms, boat landings, access arrangements, anode cages and various advanced steel details, working closely with other engineers and CAD technicians to deliver innovative and efficient designs to meet the Client’s needs
• Optimize the design through skilled examination of results and important design drivers
• Coordinate the design with other counterparts
• Ensure designs are prepared to fulfil the latest health and safety requirements accounting for the full life cycle of the structure from fabrication through to decommissioning
• Contribute to internal development activities to continuously improve and optimise our designs

Qualification And Experience:-

• A degree in civil, structural or mechanical engineering
• Around 3 years’ experience in design of steel structures. Offshore experience is advantageous
• A track record applying your understanding of structural engineering principles and hand calculations/sketches to produce efficient designs
• Should be well conversant with design standard requirements. Eurocode experience is preferable
• Experience in advanced usage of MS office tools (Excel/Word/Power Point) is preferable.
• Able to perform tasks under minimum guidance and have the willingness to go for an extra mile
• Good communication skills in English and experience coordinating designs with other disciplines and other stakeholders both in person and remotely
• To be a good team member and extend support to team members whenever required
