Job Description

You will be working as HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Specialist, reporting to Service Delivery Lead for GBS Finance Operations division based in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible to supports the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. Ensures effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

Responsibilities:-

  • Supporting managers and employees in the identification and analysis of health, safety, environmental hazard and corrective and preventive actions for office location. Report on HSE performance & progress on implementation of ABB group sustainability objectives and key HSE performance indicators (KPIs) to management as required.
  • Leading all HSE related activities for office locations this include the development of location specific documentation, providing location HSE support, liaising with management and personnel, builders and other stakeholders.
  • Reporting HSE incident and provide feedback on lesson learned and best practices from your own location and across ABB to management & Employee. Implements policies & standards and ensures that your area of responsibility objectives is assessed according to relevant program guidelines.
  • Assisting delivery managers and team leaders in understanding obligations, liability, roles and responsibilities according to local HSE legal requirements as well as ABB group policy, instructions and standards.
  • Reviewing and analyzing; act on HSE deviation from risk assessments, site audits, SOT, inspections within organizations to identify trends, root cause and corrective measures.

  • Engaging external and internal stake holders in order to report raise awareness and gain commitments on ABB’s HSE efforts & performance and to obtain objectives feedback; this involves cooperating with other functions (CoE & business partners) to drive performance.
  • Ensuring appropriate HSE equipment & tools are available and used appropriately, this involves identifying, planning and initiating training when needed for employees, managers and contractors and facilitating delivery support from CoE. Support and participate in incident investigation, reporting and follow up in accordance with ABB incident reporting protocols.

Qualification and Experience:-

  • Bachelors / Master of Engineering degree in Environmental area or related field with specialized diploma/degree in HSE from reputed institute (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 to 12 years of HSE experience in relevant industries.
  • Excellent knowledge of national HSE legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • HSE auditing accreditation would be beneficial (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 14001 or similar)
  • Excellent computer skills (MS word, excel, Power point)
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence colleagues at all level to drive changes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage relationships with people inside and outside of the organization.
  • Strong role model with the ability to influence a positive HSE culture across all levels of the organization.
