As a Head of Middle Office India, you would be required to have a hands-on and operational leading-by-example approach. Your functional reporting would be to the Head of International Market (Risk Management) in Oslo HQ (Norway) and will be responsible for:
- Ensure independent evaluation and clear and transparent communications of all risk factors and value creation for different portfolios.
- Leading a team of 2-3 talented Senior/Risk Analysts.
- Being a sparring partner towards the front office, and the corporate risk functions.
- Developing, calibrating, and running high-quality risk models for independent assessments of complex energy (power) deals & transactions.
- Performing counterparty due-diligence and credit risk assessments.
- Reviewing and discussing the risk, feasibility, and performance of different portfolios/products on a regular basis with various stakeholders and delivering high-quality risk assessments.
- Developing and documenting the risk methodology and policies/procedures in cooperation with the Middle Office teams in the headquarter.
- Administrating and facilitating the assessment of new deal types and business proposals.
- Supporting M&A and project development cases where various commercial risks need to be assessed and priced in the India organisation.
- Be a risk culture ambassador in the organisation through continuous communications and knowledge sharing.
Qualification And Experience:-
- University degree in mathematics, economics, finance, or engineering, preferably at master’s level or any other quantitative study (engineering/pure-sciences/econometrics, etc.).
- Certifications (GARP ERP, FRM, CFA, etc.) would be a plus.
- Relevant experience of at least 10 yrs., ideally in a financial risk management leadership role- in a trading environment or in quant/mathematical finance/data- analytics intensive domains.
- Strong risk governance and management experience with expertise in market and credit risks.
- Quantitative modelling and structured finance knowledge. Exposure to the energy/power sector will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical mind-set, self-driven, pro-active, and able to think outside the box
- Team player, who enjoys working in a dynamic international environment.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent English (verbally and in writing).
