Job Description

You will work as component developer in a team responsible for HV Electrical Distribution and Charging components for Commercial Vehicles. Your responsibility includes the technical requirements towards the supplier and making sure that the supplier understands the Volvo requirements as well as the customer and application needs. Interact with the supplier and manage the work distribution. Deal with maintenance cases and quality improvements. Have the operational responsibility in the relationship with the supplier. Role can also include recommendation of supplier during sourcing and evaluate new components and select the internal component. Secure cross-functional and business anchoring as well as lead other engineer within the area when needed.

Relevant experience:-

  • Volvo GTT systems and process
  • HV Electrical distribution and component design
  • Electric Vehicle development
  • Hands on experience from electrical measurements
  • Experience from Automotive development

Prioritized experience and competence:-

  • Knowledge of HV EDS and charging components development
  • Knowledge of EV Charging standards
  • High Volage installation knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and proven collaboration skills
  • Great team player with agile mindset
  • 2-5 years of experience within Traction Voltage components/systems
  • BE/MTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Typical tasks for component developers in the team:-

  • Write Technical Requirements and drive component development activities within Volvo.
  • Lead the technical work with the supplier and secure RTS
  • Contribute to the team backlog by writing features and stories
  • Actively work with the team’s JIRA backlog during the Program Increment
  • Review supplier design documents and working process, when needed also at supplier sites.
  • Create and update product development timeplans securing they match the introblocks
  • Identify and drive quality improvements and cost reduction activities
  • Secure installation requirements and PAA
  • Support functional verification and fault tracing in vehicles as well as in rigs and lab environment.
