Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and energetic fire protection engineer to join our growing Global Facilities team in Mumbai office to lead and support fire protection design activities on projects mainly in North America region. The successful candidate will report to the mechanical department manager and will assist in building the fire protection team to support future facility design projects across a business vertical.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Capture client requirements and if needed, advise them regarding fire protection systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with applicable codes and standard.
  • Responsible for the design and specification of fire suppression systems including wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and storage tanks on a wide variety of project types.
  • Knowledge of special systems such as foam, spray, mist, clean agent, wet/dry chemical, and carbon dioxide is preferred.
  • Responsible for the design and specification of fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and releasing systems.
  • Knowledge of manual, electric, and pneumatic releasing, as well as cross-zoning and flame detection is preferred.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and other stake holders to develop a clash free system design.
  • Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget.
  • Manage a team of engineers and designers working on a project.
  • Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.
  • Review contractor shop drawings, field inspections, and testing and commissioning reports.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • Qualifications & Skillsets: o Bachelor’s degree in fire engineering, mechanical engineering, or any related engineering field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of working experience in fire protection design. Hands on experience on projects in North America region will be a plus.
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) certification would be added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards like NFPA, International Fire Code, International Building Code, American Petroleum Institute.
  • A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • Tools of Experience with any of the tools SprinkCAD, Pipe net, Hydratech or KY Pipe is a must o Experience with any 3D modeling tool like SmartPlant 3D or REVIT, o Navisworks, AutoCAD, BlueBeam o Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad Plant 3D will be an added advantage. o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote.
