Job Description

The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
We are now looking for a ESS Performance engineer to strengthen our team and you will work with cross functional, global teams to deliver technical solutions (HW, SW and/or both) with agreed QDCF target for Energy Storage Systems Product area.

Responsibilities:-

  • We are working in a cross-functional way from requirement, concept and design, to final verification and implementation in production.
  • You will together with the team define the system design from the ESS Performance point of view by setting up conditions and limitations.
  • You will be involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that we continuously improve the quality.

We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that loves to develop System designs with the customer in focus. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both Electrical and Mechanical development. We also believe that you feel comfortable of owning and take responsibility of your system and do so with great attitude. We believe that you have:-

  • Masters in Electrochemical/Materials/Thermal Engineering/Electrical or similar
  • Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • Min. 7 years of experience in development and performance analysis within the area of Lithium Ion Batteries/Fuel Cells or equivalent
  • 10+ years in mechatronic systems in automotive industry.
  • Indepth Knowledge of electrical and thermal performance characteristics for Lithium Ion batteries. This includes Power, Energy, Lifetime and their interdependence on each other.
  • Strong Experience in defining the technical requirements towards ESS performance.
  • Good understanding of the working of Lithium Ion cells and different chemistries.
  • Knowledge of Lithium ion battery pack thermal properties and its correlation with the electrochemical characteristics of the battery pack.
  • Experience with lithium ion battery simulations & measurement data processing using programming tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python is highly needed.
  • Hands on experience with electrochemical modelling along with heat and mass transfer modeling will be highly appreciated.
