Environmental Protection Engineer

• Supports the CEO / head of an organizational unit in performing his/her duties related to product-related environmental protection, according to Siemens EP standard.
• Supports activities within engineering / PLM, PM as well as Procurement and CRM regarding product-related environmental protection by:
• You have successfully completed bachelor’s education in Mechanical or Production or Chemical or Metallurgy or Material science.
• Rolling stock engineering / Automotive or similar fields of engineering.
• You have at least 6-8 years of experience in a relevant professional group or activity.
• Team leadership experience is desired.
• You must be fluent in English & Knowledge of German language would be an advantage.
• You have experience with the design of drives and components.
• Interest in requirement and systems engineering.
  • Identifying, interpreting and communicating relevant legal obligations, market and customer requirements, internal and other requirements.
  • Advising designers to create environmentally compatible and compliant products.
  • Preparing proposals to respond to product-related environmental customer Inquiries.
• Assists with internal and external EHS audits, evaluations, assessments and Communication.
• Assists defining corrective and preventive actions in case of non-conformance.
• Conducts trainings, if needed for or requested by organizational unit.
• Improves the EHS management system regarding product-related environmental protection:
  • Supports the implementation of the EHS program and the achievement of EHS objectives.
  • Supports the implementation of environmental standards and regulations.
  • Advises implementing processes (e. g. product data management, material management).

• Supports implementation and maintenance of metrics and performance indicators to make recommendations to managers.
• Supports the coordination and cooperation with authorities.
• Performs product-related environmental reporting acc. to EHS Standard: EHS reporting (SESIS EP) or GHG Scope 3 Downstream Reporting.
• Assists internal / external communication (e.g. Environmental Product Declarations).
• Reports, if required, directly to the CEO / head of the organizational unit (according to appointment)
• Reports functionally to the respective EHS Officer (“functional reporting line”).
• Optional: Works in internal and external committees.
