Job Description

  • The Engineering Specialist – Electromechanical Integration & Safety is a key role in the newly established Center of Excellence for Engineering (CoEE) of Hitachi Energy Grid Edge Solutions that design and supply green energy solutions, from microgrids to utility scale, based on Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • The Electromechanical Integration & Safety Specialist will operate in team of globally located Engineering Specialists to define, improve and maintain internal engineering standard solutions focused on the following topics: Electro-mechanical integration; electrical equipment installation engineering; Safety related topics such as FMEA and firefighting approaches referring to Hitachi Energy Portfolio and third party technologies. The Engineering Specialist team role is to provide crucial insights into the technical viability of customer solutions based on standardized HE architectures integrated with the third-party devices. The specialists will also play a key role in supporting the Sales process for Batteries and Power Conversion topics.

 Accountabilities:-

Delivery:-

  • The Engineering Specialist – Electromechanical Integration & Safety will be responsible for providing expert input on: Electro-mechanical integration, such as containerization approaches and similar; electrical equipment installation engineering, such as plant layout design and optimization guidelines, cables and cables ways guidelines; Safety related topics such as FMEA and firefighting guidelines for specifications of solutions and systems from inception, preliminary design and to the final critical design and specification review. The Engineering Specialist will perform system level tests to qualify the prototype design and release the solution for the OU’s applications.
  • The Engineering Specialist will interpret component and systems specifications, manuals, electrical drawings, and product requirement specifications, guidelines, and application notes of the designed well validated solutions.

Sales Bidding:-

  • Will work closely with the Regional Tender Specialist and will be responsible for providing practical & applicable solution for client and ensuring that technical requirements are met.

 Procurement:-

  • working closely with strategic procurement to ascertain proper and technologically viable procurement of Electro-mechanical integration; electrical equipment installation engineering; firefighting systems, mitigation of supplier-originating customer complaints.

 Health, Safety and environment:-

  • Maintains compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations while monitoring and reporting progress and results. Assesses risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety.

Excellence:-

  • Drives application and development of best practice across the entire value chain to promote a culture of excellence in operational performance. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the GES CoEE teams. Works closely with Solution Owners, Engineering Specialists, other GES organizations, and sub suppliers to optimize and improve overall solutions.

People leadership and development:-

  • Leverages support from Regional Tender Specialists, Engineering Specialist, the Hubs’ delivery/execution teams and INOPC Support to develop specification of systems and solutions to meet customer needs. Motivates and trains the other technical specialists.

Qualification And Experience:-

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Should have minimum 5 years of experience with specific technical expertise in electro-mechanical integration; electrical equipment installation engineering; safety, FMEA and firefighting technologies for storage applications.
  • Having good knowledge about electromechanical simulations, installation technologies with knowledge about the certification and safety requirements.
  • Having good knowledge about electrical equipment installation engineering, with knowledge about the certification and safety requirements.
  • Having good knowledge about FMEA processes.
  • Detailed know how of standards, regulations, and market requirements.
  • Knowledge of the global power market
  • Strong technical background, preferably in the power engineering or energy industry
  • Experience and mindset on customer satisfaction
  • Pragmatic, focused on achieving results, at the same time giving necessary attention to detail to ensure consistent, correct, timely completion or risk review process.
  • Problem solving, open minded, resolute, open to discussion.
