Engineering Head- Glass Mfg

Responsibilities:-

• Lead the Production Engineering team to plan, implement, and monitor all engineering functions related to production in a glass manufacturing environment.
• Ensure seamless integration of design, manufacturing, and automation systems to optimize productivity, cost, and quality.
• Evaluate and improve production processes to enhance throughput, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
• Drive initiatives related to plant layout, capacity enhancement, and debottlenecking in collaboration with the Projects and Maintenance teams.
• Define and implement best practices in glass forming, annealing, cutting, polishing, tempering, and coating processes.
• Oversee commissioning of new production lines, process equipment, and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards as per regulatory and company norms.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and Kaizen practices to ensure operational excellence.
• Coordinate with R&D and Quality teams for new product trials, process validations, and troubleshooting.
• Manage departmental budgets, resource planning, and talent development within the Production Engineering function.

Qualifications & Experience:-

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/ instrumentation Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
• 15–20 years of experience in production/process engineering in a large-scale glass manufacturing plant, with at least 5 years in a leadership role as an Engineering Head.
• Strong knowledge of Solar glass, Float Glass, toughened glass, laminated glass, or other specialty glass production processes.
• Experience in handling automated production systems, PLC/SCADA, and Industry 4.0 solutions is highly desirable.
