Job Description

Develop & Implement divisional R&D management strategy and plans for AMETEK engineering investment in India including the management of locally based engineering resources, outsourced contractors, systems and project/program management. Integrate engineering resources to support and contribute to globally based AMETEK’s division / business unit R&D plans and new product development strategy.

Scope and Scale:-

  • Management of AMETEK India Engineering teams, hosting global Business Units spanning across multiple divisions.
  • Located at Bangalore, India (with travel requirements in India & globally).

Roles & Responsibilities:-

  • In collaboration with VP Engineering, ensure Ametek India engineering resources are appropriately organized & structured to deliver BU R&D objectives.
  • Identify, attract, retain and develop engineering talent at India facility.
  • Assist BUs to identify resourcing needs to meet short & long term product development goals.
  • Effectively manage hosted engineering activity including outsourcing & engineering contractors.
  • Integrate, align and execute India R&D activity in close collaboration with global Business Units.
  • Deliver engineering programs, products per specifications with cost effectiveness, on time release, with highest quality & reliability.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable quality processes and regulatory standards.
  • Assist AMETEK BUs with make v/s buy decisions & specification of services, components & system related to suppliers & contractors.
  • Create an environment that supports collaboration & enhances performance, engagement, adaptability & flexibility.
  • Implement project management best practices, ensure timely & apt communication, reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with AMETEK policies, procedures, rules & laws.
  • Develop & maintain accurate engineering data, equipment, systems and lab facility.

Qualification And Experience:-

  • At least 15-20 years experience in Engineering with more than 5 years at manager level.
  • Appropriate graduate / post-graduate degree in engineering discipline.
  • Seasoned, proven expertise in People management including talent attraction, development & retention.
  • Experienced in end-to-end product development lifecycle.
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary technical competencies such as software, firmware electronic & mechanical engineering for product development.
  • Ability to work in complex, highly matrixed environment with remote R&D policy guidance & direction.
  • Must be fluent in English with good written & verbal communication and strong executive presence.
  • Proficient in data driven decision making process with strong IT skills.
  • Worked for global, multi-national organizations, preferably USA owned.
  • Requirement to attend meetings, conferences, site visits & inspections in India & globally.
  • Work to flexible time schedule including hours of work.
