  • Leads and supports on projects with cross-functional teams focusing on implementation of Transformer cost-out projects.
  • Takes initiatives to build strong VAVE active and pipeline deck
  • Lead design automation efforts currently under way, as well as continually look for new automation opportunities
  • Interfaces with R&D, purchasing, manufacturing, QA, and provide customized design solutions for plant manufacturing, quality issue
  • Perform design and drawing activities for medium voltage products of moderate complexity in accordance with established practices and company standards, including bills of material, detail/assembly, and customer drawings
  • Develop detailed design, manufacturing process, and application experience in the areas of Transformer product line
  • Interact with global cross functional teams to perform design, sustaining and cost out ideas for Transformer business
  • Provide technical support and design work to improve transformer products which address performance improvements, quality, standards, and reduce costs consistent with requirements and limitations imposed by tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Build strong active and pipeline VAVE deck for transformer and execute projects adhering timelines
  • Collaborate with Transformer R&D to understand, develop, and implement transformer design and manufacturing process enhancements into the manufacturing environment
  • Lead Design Automation efforts, coordinating with various development groups, to automate the design process from quotation to final engineering production
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use of CAD (2D and 3D) tools with mechanical or electromechanical systems. Knowledge of industry recognized drafting and CAD standards, practices and procedures, SAP, ECR/ ECN data extraction/ analysis/ reporting
  • Lead and execute design activities of transformer for new proposals, customer projects, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) and new product development (NPD) projects
  • Resolve plant issues related to manufacturing, quality for transformer products in accordance with established practices and industry & company standards, including bills of material, detail/assembly, and customer drawings
  • Prepare cost out ideas by teardown, identifying/modifying absolute features at component and transformer products and present in to team
  • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provides timely status updates and reports to stakeholders
  • Shares knowledge within the team and demonstrates flexibility working in parallel on multiple assignments/product categories
  • Utilizes DMAIC/DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR to mature concepts and design
  • Perform a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications
  • Able to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in electrical products, preferred in Transformers
  • Knowledge of power systems, Transformer, distribution, substation is added advantage
  • Experience with engineering design and VAVE process is desired
  • Knowledge in engineering analysis and tool capabilities (Cad, FEA, statistical analysis, electrical analysis tools, etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables
  • Very proficient in AutoCAD Inventor, Creo 2D & 3D modelling, SAP
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and how they apply to the product
  • Should able to generate novel concepts/ideas for the improvement of the Electrical/mechanical systems
  • Strong analytical skills and interpretation skill
  • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
