Job Description

Manage all incoming related quality excursion which includes supporting all elements of the supplier quality program and drive supplier assessment, performance and development activities required to assure the delivery of high-quality materials and services

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:-

  • Supervise a group of Incoming Material Inspectors to perform incoming inspection on selected raw materials as per the incoming specification and procedure.
  • Perform Failure Analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials.
  • Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections and help assess if suppliers should be approved and or require corrective action plan.
  • Assess supplier process and capabilities using statistical process control to ensure supplier meet FS vendor requirement and mentor them to improve their performance level.
  • Interface with cross functional team, supplier representative and customer on material quality issues and initiate corrective action/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing team to develop suppliers to ensure incoming material quality meets established criteria. Participates in the production readiness process of new designs and new equipment.
  • Responsible for communication between different plant and ensure copy smart philosophy is followed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in any technical field.


  • 8 years related working experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven problem-solving skill.
  • Able to work independently
  • Proven supervisory skill.


  • Excellent communication skill (verbal and written)
  • Excellent computer knowledge skills
  • Proven Knowledge of ISO standards, VDE or UL req.
  • Knowledge of internal or external audits
  • Proven knowledge in statistical application and supplier processes.
  • Proven training skills.
  • Six Sigma knowledge with black belt is preferable.

Physical Requirements (if any):-

  • Will sit or stand for long periods of time throughout the day.
  • Required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Will walk and climb stairs.
  • Will reach over shoulder heights and below waist.
  • Required to use hands to lift, handle, carry or feel.
  • May be required to kneel, bend, talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities are required.
  • All associates working at a First Solar manufacturing or R&D facility may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
