Job Description

In this role, you will be directly reporting to Head of Section- Project Development & Analytics. Project Development team is actively involved in pre-construction phase of a wind farm, performing wind resource and energy assessments, and site condition assessments at various phase of the project lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:-

  • Undertake energy production assessments which include – site visits, wind data processing and quality checking, correlation analysis, wind flow and wake modelling, energy estimation, review of energy losses and uncertainties using statistical methods and preparation of report.
  • Undertake site conditions assessments which include review of extreme wind speed, ambient and wake induced turbulence intensity, wind shear and temperature range along with the standard data analysis scope of energy assessment scope.
  • Produce detailed reports which review the feasibility of sites for wind farm development which may include, feasibility studies, site meteorological measurements, shadow flicker assessment, noise modelling, visual impact assessment.
  • Quality Assurance of work produced in Project Development section according to the DNV’s best practices.
  • Liaise with a wide range of clients from wind farm developers to financial institutions.
  • Work on multiple projects, managing own time to meet deadlines.
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle.
  • Produce tender proposals (including technical and financial aspects),
  • Manage the project work to ensure delivery of the scope on time and budget.
  • Close out the work, ensuring the client is satisfied with the work and has been appropriately invoiced.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Project Development methodology and documentation.
  • Perform mathematical modelling and methodical techniques with demonstrated capabilities of different data visualization skills.
  • Work with large datasets and devise applications for the industry
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Find avenues and scope of improvements in delivery of existing services and implement them through internal projects in close collaboration with larger energy advisory team.
  • Engage in DNV’s various global innovation projects and initiatives and ensure that new solutions are developed and implemented in Indian region.
  • Work in close collaboration with experienced global pool of engineers in Europe and North America
  • Explore opportunities on experience exchange with the global team through secondments to overseas offices.
  • Participate in R&D projects and contribute to publishing of journal papers.
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line management.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics or atmospheric science or mathematics field or equivalent demonstrating high academic performance, from reputed institutes.
  • 3 to 5 years of significant relevant experience.
  • Aptitude and passion for statistical analysis of data.
  • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports in English.
  • Good organizational and effective time management skills as you will be required to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment – operating to tight timescales.
  • Excellent communication, methodical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure and familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented and disciplined, and adept at multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working without assistance as well as in the team of very talented engineers.
  • Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages and Arc-GIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated ability to follow instructions diligently.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented and disciplined, and adept at multi-tasking.
