Job Description

As an ECU HW Engineer, you will have opportunities to work in projects ranging from advanced engineering to start cost level of projects.

  • Creating Technical Requirements for CCM2/3/4/+ ECU’s and components.
  • Review and agree the supplier designs, test plan and certification
  • Interacting with Tier 1 & sometimes with Tier-2 suppliers of our ECU
  • Lead the technical work with the supplier
  • Work with product owner and with cross functional teams to gather requirements and address them in the Technical Requirements
  • Functional Safety and Cybersecurity process management for HW’s you are responsible
  • Securing right quality and cost on deliveries from suppliers
  • Depth knowledge in PPAP, PSW, Part quality handling and Root cause analysis.
  • Release Management with version control to suit Market specific requirements.
  • Drive the ECU HW release process within Volvo
  • Contribute to the team backlog by writing features and stories
  • Actively work with the team’s JIRA backlog during the Program Increment
  • Support with RFQ, sourcing and supplier selection
  • Review supplier design documents and working process, when needed also at supplier location
  • Create and update product development time plans securing they match the intro-block
  • Development of component TR and secure RTS work with supplier
  • Drive diagnostic and fault handling strategy in the ECU
  • Enable the knowledge management with lessons learned, best practices and generic FMEA documents updated timely
  • Initiate and lead Advanced Engineering work in area of responsibility
  • Lead both cross-functional teams and suppliers in development of designed concepts.
  • Define level 4 (component/system) time plan including the most important cross functional milestones using APQP as the supporting process
  • Your role is cross-functional, which means you will work in EPICs within the whole Volvo GTT organization and closely collaborate with global cross functional teams
  • The responsibilities are a bit flexible to some extent, to achieve the full potential of your background and person

Qualification and skills:-

  • BE/MTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with more than 4 years of experience
  • Experience in the hardware design and development for automotive industry and experience in Power electronics.
  • Detailed understanding about Automotive EMI/EMC standards and electrical and environmental standards
  • Exposure in the embedded software development for automotive applications
  • Good knowledge of the new product development life cycle and change management activities for product maintenance
  • Structured way of working and ability to deliver on complex tasks with cross functional team alignment
  • You are a team player, self-driven with positive, global, and problem-solving mind-set and you possess excellent communication skills
  • Experience in Future Technologies (e-MOB, Fuel Cell) is a Merit
  • Knowledge in Volvo GTT development process and tools is a plus
  • Knowledge of overall automotive/truck thermal management and especially Climate system is a plus
  • Ability to work in a multicultural global environment
  • Willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities
  • Good in compiling and presenting information verbally and in writing
