Job Description

Requires to support global implementation and development of electrical controls systems/designs, PLC/HMI programing, perform vendor equipment check-out, equipment/system start-ups, data collection and optimization of control systems. Requires to support plant shift operations team by troubleshooting and problem solving on equipment controls issues to ensure they are resolved on timely and accurate manner.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:-

Primary Responsibilities:-

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating of manufacturing process tool electrical drawings globally, ensuring the tracking of equipment changes is documented and drawings are kept current
  • Responsible for the successful design and theory behind all manufacturing control systems, ensuring new process tools adhere to corporate controls standards and best practices
  • Responsible for globally troubleshooting and problem solving equipment controls related issues and recommending controls policy/standard changes, if possible, to prevent future issues with new manufacturing process tools
  • Responsible for assisting, supporting, and mentoring Controls Engineers globally.  Maintaining effective global communications levels which fosters knowledge transfer and team building.
  • Responsible to interface with multiple departments within the organization and external suppliers to ensure corporate controls policies/standards are understood and being adhered to.
  • Responsible to assist with FMCS electrical designs and main building power feed designs for new facilities globally.
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining programs that use the plant equipment data within the SQL database
  • Responsible for global coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.
  • Responsible for global communication between manufacturing process equipment and SQL database.
  • Maintain effective global communications levels and fosters team building.
  • Ensures adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
  • Responsible for designing, programming, and coordination of all control systems and projects, independent of size.
  • Expected to initiate, identify, design and implements improvement projects with high impact
  • Expected to travel overseas to USA and other Asia manufacturing plants for tech seeding during new technology introduction
  • Expected to be on-call for local site operation support when necessary

Leadership:-

  • May be asked to lead and/or participate in local site programs as department representative.
  • Supports to ensures departments’ deliverables for the strategic improvement bundle program by local and/or global are executed on timely manner and quality.

Education and Experience:-

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering or Mechatronic (Robotic) with 5 years of relevant experience

Required Skills:-

  • Demonstrated proficiency in –
    • Programming of Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC’s, including ladder and function block diagram
    • Programming Rockwell Automation Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) including PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, and Reviews SE
    • Designing, programming, and commissioning at least two control network including ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus and/or Ethernet
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems along with understanding and knowledge of electrical single line drawings
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of motion controls in one of the following systems: Stepper motors, Servo motors/drives, AC/DC Drives
  • Able to program, troubleshoot and implement Robotic systems in manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience using Auto Desk AutoCad drafting software to create electrical schematic and panel layouts
  • Experience and knowledge of working in server environment Excellent communications skills both oral and written
  • Project management expertise demonstrated by successful track record of managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams to deliver technically complex solutions

Desired Skills:-

  • Understanding/knowledge of Vision configuration and programming in one of the following Vision systems: Cognex, Keyence, Datalogic, Fanuc vision
  • Understanding/knowledge of Enterprise and Local Switch Ethernet architectures and systems
  • Experience in at least one multi-tiered architecture using C#, VB.NET, HTML, XML or SQL
