Job Description

Aerodynamics & Mechanical is a part of Vestas Power Solutions, which is the cornerstone of Vestas. Through innovation, development, and continuous product improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. The Hub Module is a part of Aerodynamics & Mechanical and has sites in both Denmark, India, and Portugal. The module is fully responsible for the competences, design, specification, and documentation of the hydraulic blade pitching function in the wind turbine. This includes design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Additionally, we are also looking ahead to verify new technologies such that these can be part of future turbine project. The Hub team is also providing technologies in the areas of blade bearings and hub design and service.
You will join a very international team, that is in India, Denmark, and Portugal. The team support each other and take great pride in developing the best solutions. Responsibilities:-

  • Identify the detailed value chain requirements and changes at the start of the project
  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo parametric with highest possible degree of standardization and reuse of know design and components
  • Define GPS on drawings reflecting manufacturing standards
  • Ensure cost-efficient design and usage of standard parts as well as manufacturing standards
  • Embed relevant design and production knowledge into CAD by defining master models (parametrical models) and design guidelines/ checklists
  • Develop the CAD design engineering competencies at Vestas to increase work quality and efficiency
  • Enable delivery of work packages in time and on quality through transparent standard workflows
  • Propel technical functional standards, accountable for definition on technology strategy & definition of cost / product performance levels

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • Master’s / Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Structural / Aeronautical / Automobile / Similar Specialization
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in design and development of innovative mechanical systems / complex products
  • Experience in Computer Aided Design tools (Creo), Product Data Management (PDM Link), Jira
  • Knowledge in Engineering Change Management (ECR), EN and ISO standards related to mechanical component design Systems Engineering experience
  • Certification favoured, e.g. INCOSE or formal training
  • Good Business and Value chain understanding
  • Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessments, requirement specifications etc
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Scrum)

Competencies:-

  • Can develop innovative solutions to the questions we face when performing these investigates / development / introduction of new tools / processes into our workflow
  • Have a solid understanding of mechanical systems tom model new and change existing CAD models
  • Efficiently communicate with the engineering team
  • Are committed to encouraging the innovative in Wind Turbine CAD technology
  • Like to work with complex engineering problems and have a creative approach to new opportunities
  • Take pride in initiating and coordinating technology development projects through a large organization
  • Project Management or business education/experience
  • Experience within other large corporate organizations
  • Have good communication skills and are fluent in English (speaking and writing)
