Job Description

In this role, you will be directly reporting to the Head of Section – Asset Operations & Management (AO&M). AO&M team is actively involved in conducting technical due diligence work for performance assessments, overseas investments, mergers and acquisitions and root cause analyses. Meticulous analyses of wind farm SCADA data from operational assets, identifying the losses and performance issues and delivering energy production estimates for the future based on past-performance are all part of regular work.   ­­­­­­­­­­

Broad Expectations:-

  • Undertake energy production assessments which include – site visits, wind data processing and quality checking from both metrological masts and operating wind turbines, correlation analysis, wind flow and wake modelling, review of energy losses, statistical analysis and produce reports.
  • Undertake site conditions assessments which include elements of the above but also a review of extreme wind speed, ambient and wake induced turbulence intensity, wind shear and temperature range.
  • Produce detailed reports which review the feasibility of sites for development which may include, feasibility studies, site meteorological measurements, shadow flicker assessment, noise modelling, visual impact assessment.
  • All the above work will be undertaken following Energy Group best practice analytical techniques.
  • You will be involved in checking the work of others to ensure that it complies with Energy Group best practice techniques.
  • You will be required to visit sites and meet clients.
  • Managing multiple projects to ensure they are completed within timescale and budget.
  • To coordinate and collaborate within Asia Pacific region and global team for the fulfilment of DNV’s goal, vision and strategy
  • Participate in R&D projects and publication of research papers in important Journals and magazine
  • Impart training on various aspects of subjects for internal and external stakeholders
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Actively participate in the ongoing global energy transition, and contribute in shaping the future of energy
  • Maintain an environment oriented to trust and help team members attain their potential
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line management

Position Qualifications:-

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics or atmospheric science or mathematics field or equivalent demonstrating high academic performance, from reputed institutes
  • Experience in the renewables industry in a technical consulting capacity (as an indication a minimum of 3 to 7 years).
  • Aptitude for data handling, data science and statistical analysis of data,
  • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports in English.
  • Good organisational and effective time management skills as you will be handling multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised consultancy environment – operating to tight timescales.
  • Willingness to work on site
  • Excellent observation skills and quick adaptability
  • Exposure and familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques preferred.
  • Willingness to explore, experiment and innovate
  • An interest in, and aptitude for, programming and coding
  • Strong teamwork, but must be a Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate and coach people in varying disciplines to achieve improved overall performance
  • Willingness and capable of undertaking physically stressful work such as climbing wind turbine / met-mast etc. to get a first-hand experience of technology and data and visit to wind farm sites
  • Able to maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented and disciplined, and adept at multi-tasking
