Job Description

This Electrical Programming Controls Engineer is to be responsible for the design, modelling, and development and testing of control systems designed to allow refuse collection vehicles to collect, store and process refuse as required by the customer. Develop functional requirements.  Understand and apply standard engineering principles. Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates.  Design and test components and integrate components to produce final product.  Monitor quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes.  Evaluate designs, overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.  Investigate root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Responsible for controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up assistance.
  • Experience in: PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Automation Direct, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, HMI or SCADA programming and configuration of any of the following software packages Codesys, Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc. or other mobile-equipment controller such as Vasso, HED, I/O Controls, EcoMat, etc
  • Develop a software-based method to test and validate body controller program releases and changes to prevent unintended actions or errors during product operation. • Able to install different transducers, sensors, and strain gages.
  • Develops test to evaluate and validate electronic hardware to be used in new products and collects and interprets test data.
  • Operates electronic instrumentation in multiple configurations with multiple software. Performs post process analysis of data received from the acquisition equipment. And Coordinate and conduct design verification testing at component, subsystem, and system level.
  • Design controls required to aid in the performance of the primary duty of a refuse collection vehicle.
  • Compliance with all applicable government safety and environmental standards as they pertain to motor vehicles or heavy-duty trucks.
  • Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Requires the ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
  • Possess great communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors.

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s in electrical & Electronics, Controls Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4 to 6 years related experience in controls and assembly operations.
  • Must have ground up development experience with PLC applications preferably Codesys.
  • Design and development of Control System applications including generating PLC logic or other mobile controller platforms.
  • Wiring schematic design capabilities.
  • Good electrical and mechanical skills.
  • CTQ 1 • PLC or other mobile controller understanding and programming.
  • CTQ 2 • Working knowledge of CAN networks and communications protocol.
  • CTQ 3 • Wiring schematic capabilities.
  • CTQ 4 • Detail oriented. • Patience to evaluate multiple solutions to problems. • Advanced computer skills, the development in advanced instrumentation knowledge, and the aptitude for learning are required.
