Job Description

SANAVA is looking to add an experienced electrical engineer to our team in India. The engineer will work mainly with new product development in the area of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) with specialization in Power Electronics, but will be involved in conventional Chargers, LV Power distribution systems, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Industrial Automation Control systems, Cloud and Machine Learning technologies. In this role, the person will work on designing, developing, testing, debugging and validating electrical hardware aspects of Chargers and EVSE charging technology. We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic team member who can drives product innovation through research and evaluation of new technologies.

ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:-

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including architecture, component selection, PCB schematic and layout, bring-up, writing RTL, characterization, and system level integration for Power Products and Systems such as Chargers ( Bulk, SCR based, Thyristor based, Digital based, networked cloud-based etc), EVSE Equipment ( AC/DC Level 1/2/3 Chargers), Electrical power distribution systems, Switch-gear, charge controllers, inverters, motor control centre’s, Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, Power monitoring, metering and sensing.
  • Conduct engineering calculations such as Load flow analysis, power budget, heat dissipation, etc of electrical power distribution systems
  • Develop technical design reports at both component and system level to select/propose bill of materials for electrical products and systems
  • Write documents, leads necessary activities, and ensures compliance to seek product certification from certification bodies such as ARAI, UL, CE, IEC, ISO etc.
  • Develop high quality, high reliability electrical/electronic hardware solutions with an emphasis on design for manufacturability and test. Conducts PCB design and assembly (PCBA): hardware specification, schematic capture, symbol creation, netlist verification, place and route, board layer stack up, BOM, etc.
  • Designs AC/AC or DC/AC power electronic circuits with various topologies, analog/digital circuits, using necessary electrical and electronic components based on best in class engineering and reference designs.
  • ·Designs, analyses, and evaluate system trade-offs. Conduct routing/breakout studies, component selection and PCB placement planning, power delivery options, setting up design constraints, and post-processing of complex, high speed, multilayer printed circuit boards with considerations for design for manufacturability, test, assembly, RF, EMC, and EMI.
  • Follows latest technology trends in the field of power electronics investigating developments that can enhance and improve the company’s products.
  • Develop computer simulations to verify designs and predict performance.
  • Develops and implements test jigs and procedures and conducts tests in the lab.
  • Assist in the design, specification, and procurement of lab test jigs and instrumentation.
  • Should be able to work in any complex embedded system with knowledge of microcontroller architectures, differences in key products/controllers from various semi-conductor manufacturers such as NXP, STMicrocontrollers etc.

EXPERIENCE:-

  • Hands on with Power Electronics development activities to launch new product development programs
  • Experience in Battery management systems, Charging infrastructure & other vehicle controllers will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Power delivery designs such as battery chargers (industrial & EV), inverters, solar charge controllers is a must
  • Knowledge of EVSE architectures is desirable
  • Knowledge of PCB designing, hardware testing and board bring-up activities
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing processes, flexible and printed circuit board technologies, component selection, test and inspection methodologies, quality assurance and consumer or industrial electronics product development.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), state and local codes, specifically related to Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) is a plus.
  • Experience in Power delivery and design for low power, high efficiency systems such as SMPS is a plus
  • Experience in development, integration, maintenance of CAD tools, custom tool scripts and tool upgrades is a plus.
  • Experience with embedded systems/processors, DSP/FPGA, lab bring-up and debug.
  • Experience with Altium designer and other PCB CAD tools
  • Working knowledge of Controllers, PLCs, Switches & Radio telecommunications hardware.
  • Ability to understand Microprocessor & DSP based

QUALIFICATIONS:-

  • 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / IT/Software Engineering fields or relevant.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in India.
  • Candidates must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel onsite on US H1B based on the requirement.
