Job Description

Responsibilities:-

  • Knowledge of power system engineering and grid integration of conventional and non-conventional generators.
  • Experience in steady-state and dynamic studies using industry-standard platforms such as PSSE & Power Factory.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret the major assets data received from the customer and OEM.
  • Evaluate options, write clear and concise reports; and present study results to clients.
  • Desire and the ability to understand and maintain an overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains within grid integration of renewable power plants like ancillary services, main circuit design, protection, HVDC, eBoP equipment.
  • Knowledge & experience of Wind/Solar farm power system modelling.
  • Regularly discuss, correspond, and meet with the team manager to ensure that system studies are completed on time and to the customer’s specification.
  • Provide written reports, analytical data analysis, presentations or other client communications detailing the results / outputs of distribution or transmission planning analyses.
  • Strong report writing skills to prepare and furnish reports/ drawings.
  • Knowledge & experience of Wind/Solar farm power system modelling.
  • Assist the team in writing proposals and business development activities.
  • May include travel to customer’s site to collect data, take measurements, label equipment, or discuss report conclusions and recommendations.

Qualifications And Experiences:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering specialising in power system (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced MS Office.
  • Experience in electrical integration of renewable power generation and grid codes.
  • Familiars with Power Systems Analysis tools such as PSS®E, Power Factory.
  • Ability to work independently to solve complex tasks.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards, i.e. IEC, NESC, NEC and NFPA.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.
  • knowledge of Balance of Plant (BoP), such as transformers, cables, switchgear, power circuit breakers, surge arresters, shunt reactors, shunt capacitors, STATCOMs High work ethics.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multidisciplinary environment.

Competencies:-

  • Ability to use power simulation tools such as PSCAD and ETAP.
  • User knowledge of simulation model development (PSSE, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, Power Factory).
  • Python scripting knowledge within the PSSE and PSCAD domain.
  • Protection design at generation and substation level.
  • Lightning and earthing design calculation using industry-standard tools such as CDEGS.
