RWA Recruitments Electrical Engineer (IN) RWE Renewables Offshore Job in Mumbai, Maharashtra

The Engineer will sit in the Electrical System & Project Engineering Region 1 Team, part of the RWE Renewables’ Offshore Wind Engineering function. The Engineer will support the Project’s Consenting/Engineering and Package Managers with responsibilities including:

Working initially in the pre-consenting phase, the Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a robust through life design of the project’s electrical system supporting on all aspects of the HV generation and transmission system up to the Grid Interface Point.
Helping to define consenting envelopes (for assets such as substations and cable routes) to allow projects to incorporate future technology and minimise cost of energy
Liaison with the Transmission System Operators (for example GETCO, TANTRANSCO) to secure appropriate grid connections for projects
Support the definition of the main electrical system design for projects, covering all aspects of the HV system that lies within the developer’s responsibility
Development of specifications, subsequent TQ clarifications and ensuring specification compliance with selected consultants and contractors
A strong focus on interface topics, for example on the offshore platform(s)
A strong focus on safety through design and through life performance of the assets.
Close liaison with technical experts in Offshore Engineering and Engineers in the RWE main offices in Hamburg (Germany) or Swindon (UK) working on similar projects world-wide to ensure their knowledge is effectively utilised on the projects in India

Required skills and experience:-

Prior experience in project engineering of offshore wind projects is mandatory
University degree or comparable graduate education ideally in electrical power engineering
Fluent speaking and writing in English and a local language such as Hindi
Experience of liaising/negotiating with Indian TSOs, existing working relationships are an advantage
Understanding of the grid connection process in India, applicable Grid Codes and local regulations relating to the electricity market
Good Knowledge of electrical plant including large power transformers, switchgear, onshore transmission substations, static and dynamic reactive power compensation solutions, MV/LV auxiliary systems and cables
Excellent communication, coordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
