Job Description

This position ensures that the GE T&D India Limited, Large transformer manufacturing site in Vadodara and distributed project sites are comply with applicable EHS regulations, meet GE’s EHS requirements, develop effective EHS programs and deliver EHS excellence. The position provides Environmental compliance technical expertise as a subject matter expert (SME) to other manufacturing sites as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and review applicable Environmental regulation as per local and international requirement
  • Assess the risk and plan to implement regulatory requirement at the facility with sustainable model
  • Review and coordinate compliance assurance by meeting and communication with Government authorities as expert
  • Develop, Implement, Maintain Promote GE EHS Programs as per GE’s EHS Framework requirements
  • Lead Management of Change (NPI) and Risk Assessment activities before any change or new process implementation
  • Understands and serves the needs of Grid Solution businesses and PTR EHS functions
  • Drives EHS compliances and the risk reduction initiatives through employee engagement
  • Provide support in incident investigation and drive quick closure of CAPAs
  • Develop a range of communication to ensure regular updates on EHS matters.
  • Work closely with the site operations and EHS team to understand site requirements, objectives and goals pertaining to EHS and help drive EHS Culture with employee involvement.
  • Be accountable for trend analysis of EHS information across Center of Excellence (CoE) and work on improving the same.
  • Manage EHS Programs utilizing the framework and ISO/OHSAS management system to ensure effectiveness.
  • Drive positive change in EHS programs through proactive planning & execution.
  • Influence and Collaborate with cross functional teams to cultivate EHS culture;
  • Manage all aspects of regulatory permit & license as per compliance requirements;
  • Organize and Conduct hazard identification audits and inspections and suggest corrective actions to support compliance efforts.
  • Provide and manage training to the employees and cross functional teams as per internal & external compliance
  • Manage documents and as per Compliance assurance programs & tools like legal register and compliance assessment tool.
  • Develop and carry out risk reviews, hazard assessments, inspections and audits under the guidance of site EHS management.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Science from an accredited college or university with preferred specialized post-graduation degree in Environment and Industrial safety with 6+ years of experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years overseeing the execution of EHS management system at manufacturing site

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English/Hindi/Gujarati)
  • Self- Starter with strong personal motivation & Good Team player.
  • Must be able to develop cooperative and positive work relationships with all the employees.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office programs – word, excel, power points and other desktop applications.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks on tight schedules
  • Capability to stand alone, in front of internal and external customers for compliance assurance.
